I've got (or, rather, I "have had for like a year now") tix for the September show here in CLT.
There is some very tasty merch the band is selling at the shows, too.

Yeah, I think Phish would probably do a much better job(not sure they if are Rush fans though).
Do not suffer through the game of chance that plays....always doors to lock away your dreams (To Be Over)
I dunno. Sounds sufficiently "Primus-ed" to me (though Ler seems to struggle a bit with the opening).

I too have had my tickets for well over a year for this show. Going to see them tomorrow night just outside of Seattle, in Redmond.
I was wondering if they would bring in an extra player or two to augment the sound... guess not. One nifty keys/gtr/voc guy could certainly add color and beef up some of the thin spots.
They could always backing tapes …

Has anyone asked them "Why?"
I'm holding out for the Wilson-mixed 5.1 super-duper walletbuster special anniversary extra adjectives edition.
I'd think the vocals would be a problem. Yes, both Geddy and Les sound like cartoon characters - but different cartoon characters.

Rough around the edges fer sure. Les is struggling with the vocals - and who wouldn't? Tim on drums is pretty spot-on.
Kind of like Porky Pig sings "kill the wabbit" instead of Elmer Fudd? Cool.
I'm going to see this next month fully knowing that they have the chops to pull this off musically and expecting it to sound like.....well.....like Primus, and it should be fun.
I can't wait to see/hear what they do with Cygnus X-1.
In addition, we get an excellent set of Primus music to boot.
They did a similar thing with Charlie and The Chocolate Factory a few years back and it was one of the coolest shows I had been to.
I'm purposely avoiding the footage because I'd rather take it in as it happens.
Hmm, not sure about this...

Best Primus cover was Charlie Daniels, Devil Went Down to Georgia.
For me, Les Claypool is the kind of person who's convinced he's funny and refuses to believe when his friends tell him he isn't.

They were originally planning on touring the album before Neil passed, but were asked to play on the Slayer farewell tour so had to postpone it a bit. They played part of Cygnus X-1 on the Slayer tour.
I have tickets to the Raleigh show; looking forward to it. Haven’t watched any videos and not going in with any expectations

That's pretty damn funny.
I saw Primus with Mastodon - of all places in the Missouri Ozarks, smack dab in the middle of the state, a pretty rural area where Ted Nugent would probably go over better.
The comments Les was making towards the audience were fucking hilarious (which generally Les is not known for witty stage banter with the audience) The whole damn show was pretty surrealistic in that enviroment.
They were touring the Desaturating Seven album and killed it, that's probably their proggiest for people who like that sort of thing.
