Are you the instrumentalist, the vocalist, or the allsorts?

I would be the "allsorts". I think in the end all that's left of me on the recording is the piano and some harmony vocals.

Originally I wrote the song in my home studio, and created a demo where I played all the instruments and sang. I then brought it down to the studio where the producer and I worked up the bridge a bit and we pulled our friend in to do the lead vocals.

My producer buddy is a better player than I am and the singer is definitely a better singer, so my general rule is "whatever sounds best for the song is cool with me".

Great job Michael. Production sounds great, and I think you're a very good songwriter. Keep on making music bud!
