    Big Ears 2022

I have always wanted to attend the Big Ears festival and i see the band Sparks has been announced as one of the artist, gonna do everything in my power to make this happen.

Tickets should happen in the September/October timeframe...they give plenty of advance notice. Hopefully the lineup will be fairly well announced by that point as well (or AT that point).

Planning to go, not as 100% guaranteed in as prior years but leaning toward going

Sparks huh? Ok, sure. Sort of like the Stephin Merritt, Magnetic Fields stuff one year. I will probably pass.

^ Are Sparks still worth seeing, Ian? Have you seen the "modern" Sparks?

(If not I might endure the same experience that I had with traveling to see the modern Tubes.)

I am planning on going next year but this Sparks announcement is not particularly a selling point for me. Does anyone have a guess if this is going to be an overpacked stand-up show or, do you think it's going to be in that big Tennessee Theater? If it's the former, it will be an early night for me.

    Mill & Mine or Tennessee.
In the past they did some of the more headline names during the early hours.

I won't go to see Sparks specifically and would probably duck them if something more interesting is on. But they are intriguing, I liked them in the 80s with their UK hit singles. If the slot is open I'll certainly go see them.

    I plan to go,if i'm not dead.

I don't think Sparks will be on my short list of Big Ears bands to see.

Not a must see for me. I will be surprised if nothing more interesting opposite them (for me). If not, I will check them out.

Anna Meredith just announced for a show in Chicago March 26. Possibility she will perform at Big Ears around that date? Hope so.

It's too bad Ric Ocasek passed away. He would have been a natural for this festival.

Looks like the only date of Big Ears when she ISN'T already booked is the 24th. I'd absolutely love to see her again, and see her at Big Ears again...feels like it's a longshot, sadly

And if I attend Big Ears, I won't be able to catch her Chicago appearance. Hoping for that "longshot"!
