I liked that one. Was good to hear Brian, Al, and Mike all together again, however briefly. I should spin that one again, along with Pet Sounds.

It's beginning to feel more like autumn here, which I'm actually kinda glad about. Although I don't look forward to the shorter daylight hours.

Yeah it's a very good album, though perhaps not quite to the level of Pet Sounds or a couple of 'The Explorers' Club' albums.

I always miss summer when its gone. The long hours definitely, and being able to eat outside in short sleeves. Autumn has it's own beauty though, and I break out a whole different set of music than summer.

Oh yeah, I agree. Definitely doesn't top Pet Sounds or even Wilson's SMiLE from 2004. But it was a surprisingly good comeback.

I've heard some of The Explorers' Club and liked it. Should check out more of their stuff.

Same here. It gets so humid where I live so I don't miss the hot weather, but the longer days and the thunderstorms I definitely miss. I'm the same way about listening to a different set of music when autumn rolls around. (Though I have some bands/artists that are year-round, like Todd Rundgren and Genesis.)

Oh yeah Smile is excellent! As to Explorers' Club, 'Together' is very good, very Beach Boy-ish, and the one from last year, I think it's self-titled is equal (my wife's favorite) but less Beachy. Grand Hotel starts off great for a couple tracks but is inconsistent, in my opinion.

High humidity can be miserable in the heat. Here in the PNW cascade foothills, it is cold too much of the year, not freezing like many areas at least.

- New purchase from Syn-phonic, first listen
- German band that crosses the Folk/Symphonic Rock genres in fine fashion
- Reminiscent of a heavier Renaissance to me, with solid female vocals and dynamic guitar/synth dueling (some mellower passages as well)

CD 2 The Watch - Vacuum
Track 1: Hills
Track 2: Damage Mode
Track 3: Wonderland
- Love this Italian band, with this release they do move somewhat further away from Genesis sound vs. their debut, but kept the good parts
- Begins gently with "Hills", but then blasts heavenly into the Stratosphere with "Damage Modes" soaring guitar and synths that are in the Banksian mode
- That same soft to hard tempo change continues on track 3, perhaps my favorite of the first 3 cuts

CD 3 Visual Cliff - Key To Eternity
Track 1: The Return (Part 1)
Track 2: The Return (Part 2)
Track 3: Key To Eternity
- Jazz Rock/Fusion band from the US is all instrumental at this point with quite heavy guitar that stops just short of "metal"
- The guitar dominance is offset by more measured keyboards and even flute that punctuate the more melodic passages
- "The Return Part 2, Battle Soul" shines especially brightly here, blending all diverse elements of their sound into a melodic yet energetic sound

CD 4 Lenny White - Venusian Summer
Track 6: The Venusian Summer Suite
- As most Fusion fans know, this is Lenny's solo debut and it rocks out with authority; just look at the supporting cast and it's popularity is obvious
- To me, this track is one of the best Jazz Rock statements ever, it certainly is the most complex and Prog leaning of everything I have heard by him
- As one reviewer stated, it's trippy, spacey, ambient and jazz-funky all within a 10:15 time frame (the whole album though is outstanding)

CD 5 Adrian Wagner - Instincts
Track 3: High Seas
Track 4: Love Theme
Track 5: Amazon
- A 1977 release of electronic music that is spacey, eccentric and even includes sound effects that jibe with the themes presented (Amazon sounds!)
- Some reviewers cite T-Dream and Cybotron as reference points, but to me this album stands alone it's it's cosmic electronic approach
- The only drawback is the short duration of the track (nothing 5+ minutes); it could have used extended cuts, but it is a solid album for spacey-ness

That was the conclusion of this weeks program. Stayed awake for the whole serenade, despite a couple of Gin & Tonics along the way
