Progday Encore? - Disk 3 (French TV, Providence, Volaré)

    Today (so far):

Progday Encore? - Disk 4 (Salem Hill, Equinox, Discipline)

I can never get over how great the sound is on these Progday Encore? disks. So great! If this limited edition box set is still available, any long-time Progday fan needs it!

I don’t know what it is about this album. It always struck me as “Passport lite,” but upon reappraisal it really struck a chord with me. “Tender Storm” in particular is superb “ambient jazz.”

Yesterday I spent most of the day record shopping in Berkeley...the only thing I had time to play at home was Tyrannosaurus Rex Beard of Stars. But among the albums I heard playing in shops were Herbie Hancock's Headhunters and the new Rolling Stones El Mocambo thing. Today I've been listening to all the records I bought yesterday:

Messiaen: Quartet for the End of Time (Tashi)
    Vangelis: Beaubourg
    Rick Wakeman: White Rock
    Todd Rundgren: Faithful
Leroy Jenkins: The Legend of Ai Glatson
    Steeleye Span: Ten Man Mop
    Martin Carthy: Landfall
    The Who: Magic Bus
Fred Frith: Cheap at Half the Price
