Thanks for posting. I can't see it on my work computer but will check it out on my home laptop later today.
What can this strange device be? When I touch it, it brings forth a sound (2112)
So, what was the band Ken was in and did any of their music see the light of day?
Ooh, I cannot wait to watch these!
Thanks!!!!
I've heard the Phil interview but the Peter one is new to me. I have to admit to being surprised at how proficient a piano player he was in '74. One wonders how much of the material that would appear on his first solo album was already floating around at this time.
It's also interesting to hear him already talking about friction within the band, and I sense he's already thinking about leaving. Apparently his wife Jill gave birth in July of '74 so she was already very pregnant when this interview happened.
I'm holding out for the Wilson-mixed 5.1 super-duper walletbuster special anniversary extra adjectives edition.
One thing I did notice hearing these interviews back to back is the difference between the two men when it comes to humility. Peter has quite a bit and Phil practically none. The latter is also unafraid to voice his opinion about other musicians or to say how much better he thinks he is than they are. He may be right, but it's weird to hear someone say so in such an unfiltered way.

I wouldn't go as far as to say he is arrogant but he is certainly very frank and unguarded.
Though to be fair the only real comparison he makes is that he is more adaptable than 'Brufford ' !
I looked at the SEBTP tour dates. The day before the Gabriel recording they played in Buffalo, where they made quite an impression on a member of the audience, who went on to make quite a name for himself as a musician.
Ok, that would be Neil Peart.
“One outstanding piece of work that reflected all of those qualities was the Genesis album Selling England By The Pound, from '73. In the summer of '74 (sic, the concert was in April 74) just before I joined Rush, I attended one of the shows on that tour (at the Century Theater, Buffalo, New York), and it was simply a galvanising performance, by him and all of that excellent band. The music from that night's show echoed in my head long after, while Phil's vocal performance on 'More Fool Me', was a harbinger of a whole other career to come.”
