Thanks. And thanks to everyone else who has chimed in about my correspondence with Francis. I was careful with my wording when composing the email because I did not want to accuse anyone of anything and because my knowledge of how library music actually worked is limited. The big thanks goes to Francis, who graciously replied with the explanation. He and I have actually carried on with a few more emails...super nice guy! He additionally mentioned "I do actually remember writing it HMM added it to the end of his tape, without making it clear". When discussing the Yes recording, Francis says "Yes, I enjoyed it with the vocal ". He also sent me the cue sheet from Geoff's showreel:

The cue sheet can indeed be confusing, especially 44 years after the recording. I sometimes rediscover musical pieces I created 3 months before without remembering anything about them.

Not wishing to argue the point Henry, but to me that read like it was Monkman contacting Yes management, not vice versa. Never mind, whatever it was, alls well that ends amicably.

I'm not clear who reached out to who. It does appear that everyone is now in contact, that they went to the effort of sorting out what had happened in, as you say, an amicable way, and it has all been sorted surprisingly quickly -- in 4 days! I wish the online discussion, myself included, had always shown as much graciousness and amity. :-) Should something like this ever happen again, maybe we should all just go, "Well, that's odd... Let's just wait a week for an explanation."

Wakeman said it around the time of Union, although he now says there shouldn't be any band called Yes since Squire died. Squire was saying it more recently, and Davison and Downes have also endorsed the idea.

And what is Vangelis' role in all this ? He is the secret link between Olias, Pulstar, library music and the new Yes single. There must be some kind of conspiracy.

He said it's his brown Spector with the fish inlays....

There is an L and a G in "Vangelis". Albedo 0.39, with "Pulstar", was Vangelis's third studio album (if you don't count the obscure Fais que ton rve soit plus long que la nuit). That gets you to LG3... LTG3?

As long as History keeps one of them alive, the treasure wont be found and the seasons will never end. Rick may end up being first full human brain to synthezoid transfer??!!!!

I must admit that I find it a hard watch. I can understand that the label would want something more than just a static picture for YT but these kinds of things (as Yes is far from being the only offender) just look so cheap. Some poor soul, given a few days in front of After Effects with a folder of picture assets (a hi-res of the cover, a logo, and a pic of the group) and a lyric sheet. I actually laughed out loud when a scroll unfurled to reveal a pic of Steve like a crusty relic had been discovered!

I think for the most part, I don't enjoy videos for music.
I've watched the video twice, but enjoy listening to it without watching much more.

I'm guilty of creating videos sometimes for my own homegrown music, but it's mainly because mp4's are all Facebook allows you to embed in your post and you don't have to click a link to another site.
For Soundcloud and Bandcamp you provide the link and most folks I know don't like clicking on a link , so they don't bother listening to the music.(Or maybe theyjust don't like mine). lol

Very few videos grab me, and I have to give a tip of the hat to Transatlantic. Their last 2 new videos are wonderful to watch. Just enough interplay between the band members and the story shots.
    And the colors...oh my!!

    Downes has tweeted:

Re: The Ice Bridge. Hi. I had a very pleasant chat today with Francis (Monkman), and all has now been amicably resolved concerning the track. I hope you continue to enjoy it, and are looking forward to hearing the rest of The Quest. Best GD (YES)

    Whew!

    Great work, Dan.

I have to say it is admirable the way this has turned out.

The album has now simply become that bit more interesting, having a Monkman co-write as the lead single haha

I suspect that LTG is short for Luis-Tom-Geoff: Luis Jardim, Tom Blades, and Geoff Downes, who are credited with several tracks on these library discs:

Ray, that is fantastic! I didn't expect somebody would actually work it out! :-)

Jardim is best known for his work with Horn over the years? Does this mean that Downes knew Jardim first and introduced him to Horn? I guess these are from after Horn and Downes started working together, so it could be Horn introduced him to Downes.
