RIP Geezer. I met Steve at my first NF in 2003 at whatever hotel that was. A great guy and legendary PE'er who will be missed.

I just saw Glens post on FB about Steve. Damn. I'm sorry I never got to know him in the real world, but we talked many times on here. A real champion for young prog bands and a damned fine fellow. He will most certainly be missed.

One of the many people here that I always loved talking to. Rest In Peace Geez, you were awesome.

Never met, but felt I knew him...as did many of us who have been here for a while. He will be missed, and I agree--he will attain mythic status, if he has not already.
My condolences for your loss.
"And this is the chorus.....or perhaps it's a bridge...."
I may have met him at a NEARfest along the way but I'm sure it was good as I've met quite a few cool people in the prog world. RIP Progeezer and condolences to all who really knew him
Such a good guy, and such a big heart. I didn't know him very well, owing to living on the other side of the country, But meeting him was always one of the pluses of Progday.
Peter, thank you for taking the time to let us know about your father. My deepest condolences to you and your family.
While I never met your dad I do have hope that I will get to do so and under better circumstances.

My sincerest and most heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. One of those people who you felt you knew even though you'd never met him (and I only knew him from PE). Whenever anyone leaves us it creates a space that cannot be filled. Each one of us a unique part of a giant and ongoing mosaic of humanity. RIP.

May your father's memory be a blessing. Will say Kaddish for Steve today, Shabbat.
Losing Steve has been quite the curveball, still kind of processing it.
I'd like to at least say though, whatever your personal beliefs may be, I'd like to think that Geezer is out there somewhere, content in the fact that he's missed by so many, and that he helped in some small way to push the Genesis 2021 thread down to the bottom of the page

I never met Steve but saw him many times at RF and enjoyed his posts. Rest in peace.
RIP Steve. Once you met him he was your friend. I met him briefly at a prog festival and though we only spoke a few times, I considered him a friend. Good dude and the world has too few good dudes. One fewer good dude now. Sad news indeed.

Hadn't seen this thread.
RIP, to Steve.
my music collection increased tenfolds when I switched from drug-addicts to complete nutcases.
As I mentioned in the other thread he was very knowledgable about music(and also art). I knew him initially from here and then met him and spoke to him a few times in person at Rosfest. RIP Steve.

This one is very hard. Steve was a very warm, giving and friendly human being. He was both very passionate and highly intelligent. All the great times that I got to spend with him were memorable and are happily etched into my brain and heart. He was the only person I knew that attended Woodstock and served in the Vietnam conflict. An original and someone who could converse with just about anyone and relate to any age group. I remember him once in rapt conversation with Oliver Grant Campbell, the mid-twenties bassist for the Mercury Tree. It was amazing to hear and watch.
Farewell and love always, my friend. If there is another side, I hope to hang with you there. You will never be forgotten.
Neil
Sail away, away
Ripples never come back
Gone to the other side
Look into the pool, the ripples never come back, come back
Dive to the bottom and go to the top
To see where they have gone
They've gone to the other side
Ripples never come back
Sail away, away
Sail away, away
Ripples never come back
