    It's a lovely obituary and thanks for sharing, including the picture;

Haven't been on PE in some time now and haven't really acknowledged our loss online but felt it appropriate to chime in, if ever so briefly, just to share in the grief and loss of our much beloved friend. I am eternally grateful to Lucas Phillips who drove a total of 22 hours, essentially, so we could see Geezer. He was in good spirits, if a bit rocked by all that had hit him but I'm grateful to have seen him on last time. I had been planning on seeing him for over two years now and a simple twist of spontaneity allowed that one last visit. My only regret was not being able to head back up with Pete, Luis and Matt as we had planned. Condolences to all for our loss. It was truly an honor to be a good friend of this wonderful man. Love and hugs.

Also, to honor Geezer I started a fundraiser for a Rosfest Blue Diamond seat. We plan to put a cardboard cut out of him so that Geezer can be with us in spirit. If anyone is interested in donating here is the link:

I am thinking of proposing a new 'progressiveears-ism' - a term unique to this webpage. Similar in vein to the use of 'camples' instead of 'samples'

I've run it by a few people

I'd like to propose the idea of
    GGG!

.. which would be 'Great Geezers Ghost!' (always with an exclamation point); a take-off of the old 'Great Caesars Ghost' of Superman fame.

It would be to express greatness, whether a song, or a riff, or a concept, as in
"GGG! That was a terrific guitar solo!"

I feel this would be a nice way to honor the man

Why can't we have anything nice?

    How about expanding it? :

We already have a "geezer" emoji:

Perhaps that pipe should be replaced with something more Progeezer-specific

Wasn't Geez fond of absinthe? Could that be an emoji?
I don't like country music, but I don't mean to denigrate those who do. And for the people who like country music, denigrate means 'put down.'- Bob Newhart

While we are on the subject of G, I loved Steve’s nicknames for bands. In particular his calling of Genesis “Gspot”.

That was the first thing I thought of
Brian Dennehy: "I'm now 80 and I'm just another actor and that's fine with me. I've had a hell of a ride," ... "I have a nice house. I haven't got a palace, a mansion, but a pretty nice, comfortable home. I've raised a bunch of kids and sent them all to school, and they're all doing well. All the people that are close to me are reasonably healthy and happy. Listen, that's as much as anybody can hope for in life."

Please accept my most sincere condolences. By all accounts your father was well loved and his passing leaves an empty space in many lives. Prog onward and upward...

Just got in the door from Madison and thought it appropriate to check in, as you were as much a part of Geezer's family as anyone else was. PE was his online home and he was on the forum before he had his first cup of coffee. I'll miss visiting him, I'll miss the phone calls, the laughter and sharing memories. There were about 50 people there, friends and family, Peter, Elise, Chris, Mike and Chloe. Elise memorialized her father by singing his favorite theatre show song Climb Every Mountain. It was touching. After the luncheon we went to the funeral site. During the ceremony I thought about a lot of you... maybe I should say a lot of us. Rich, Lucas, Bob and myself were there physically but the rest of you were there in thought and spirit. The role of music in Steve's life was referenced and the power that music has to bring us all together, as it has.
