This song is by Nick Magnus. I recognized it as the final track on his 2010 solo album "Children of Another God."

Thanks for reminding me of this wonderful Nick Magnus album, I need to pick this one up.
I just compared the two songs, and I personally think they're different. But that's just my ears, and everyone may hear them differently.

The hair on my back usually sticks up when I hear songs that are nearly copycats of another's work, but didn't get it on this one.

Day'um, Nick is awesome and I'm also a fan of Tony.

Children of Another God is a great album! Get it now if you don't already have it in your collection.

    You are correct kind sir.
I just saw a post on the Watch's Facebook page under the link to the video for Howl the Stars Down.
Posted by none other than the man himself...

To say I'm honoured that you've done such a lovely version would be an understatement! ❤️

Thanks for the info, and for not digging in your heels like some folks would because I didn't know.

Nick Magnus has a lot of really great music actually. I'm not wild about his first album, but everything from Inhaling Green onward is solid, some of it exceptionally beautiful. The occasional vocal piece I skip, but musically it's surprisingly undiscovered IMO.

I just bought Inhaling Green. It's on Amazon.ca (the only one available).

What can this strange device be? When I touch it, it brings forth a sound.

Awesome, dude. I was hoping this one would be good.

If it's their best since Vacuum, then count me as pretty darn excited. I loved that one, Primitive, and Planet Earth?, but lost track of them after that. They are a great band though, and more than just a Genesis clone.

Great news. Love The Watch. 'Planet Earth?' is probably my favorite. 'Something Wrong' has such a glorious concluding instrumental section, that when they performed it live I was actually disappointed they morphed into the Entangled closing section instead. Looking forward to this, and I appreciate now knowing about Nick Magnus' solo material, which I've never heard.

Excellent review Thorne. Your background on The Watch is perfect and the breakdown of each song sounds like this will be a great complete album.
I've had my Red Vinyl version on pre-order for some time, so looking forward to this one.
I also have 7 on vinyl, and it's a joy to pull the jacket out to spin it on the turntable, while enjoying the great artwork.

    Thanks for posting this.

Thanks, I like the name Thorne, it's got a soap opera vibe to it.

Most likely taken from the hit Canadian Cable TV series Game of Thornes.
