Still Wish You Were Here: Members of Yes, Genesis, Deep Purple Play Pink Floyd

Pink Floyds 1975 album, Wish You Were Here, is the subject of a new tribute album from an all-star lineup of rock and metal stars. Still Wish You Were Here, coming May 28, 2021, includes performances from keyboard wizard Rick Wakeman, Steve Hackett, Rod Argent, Deep Purple drummer Ian Paice, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominee Todd Rundgren, and more.

Pink Floyds original release was a musically and emotionally complex tribute to the bands former leader, Syd Barrett, whose deteriorating mental health had caused his departure from the band in 1968. For the new release, fellow stars recreate the synthesis of brilliant, multi-part suites, poignant ballads, and heady melodic rockers that Roger Waters, David Gilmour, Richard Wright and Nick Mason realized on the album.

Still Wish You Were Here also includes performances from ex-Queensrche vocalist Geoff Tate, Joe Satriani, Billy Sheehan, Patrick Moraz, Geoff Downes, Dream Theater vocalist James LaBrie, Bootsy Collins, Carmine Appice, Tony Levin, PiLs Jah Wobble, and more.

The Pink Floyd tribute album is available, via Cleopatra Records, on both CD in a six-panel deluxe digipak and a gatefold LP in a variety of colors.

The Magna Carta label's tribute albums live!
I like the part where Icarus hijacks the Little Red Hen.

The Rundgren/Levin/Wakeman version is great! Better than the original IMHO.

This is post worthy but, personally, if I bought it I would play it once, twice maybe.

It seems like theres a new Floyd tribute out every other year and they always pull from DSOTM, WYWH, like this one, or The Wall. Im glad Nick Mason is filling that niche for Barrett era and other pre DSOTM songs with his band, because the rest of the catalog is kinda tapped out. Then again, does anybody actually want to hear Careful With That Axe, Eugene featuring Billy Sherwood, Jay Schellen, Steve Lukather and Jordan Rudess or whatever?

Yeah, Jordan Rudess shredding over the percussion break in "Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun" has been on my wishlist FOREVER, man!
I'm holding out for the Wilson-mixed 5.1 super-duper walletbuster special anniversary extra adjectives edition.
