I like Fripp's soundscapes and the way his collaborations use them, however the beat of this is not for me.
I have plenty of 'electronic' music, but that beat is irritating to my ears.
I hope others can find enjoyment in it.

Unfortunately, this did nothing for me.

Has the world caught up to Fripp? (Some may argue that it caught up a long time ago, some may argue it has not, nor ever will catch up). For me, I hear nothing new, nothing remotely innovative...instead a rehash of a sound that was bleeding edge maybe 10 to 20 years ago. I found this (at least this song) to be pedestrian and extremely uninspired.

    Sorry.

To my ear, the two elements just never blend. The poppy little electro-beat and the keening soundscape just seem irrelevant to each other. You could listen to either part without the other and it would say no less. If I hadn't read the story about Fripp showing up at the Grid's studio with his soundscape gear, I would have assumed he had sent them a recording and they just plastered it willy nilly over a rhythm track.

The rhythm tracks sound awful. Hard pass

Maybe if Levin was involved there would have been some interesting bass.

I listened expecting something to happen at any moment and it didn't.
No matter what anyone says, you are the decider of how you will listen to music.

To be fair, that's how I felt on first hearing of Fripp and Eno--except that when I realized that nothing was going to happen, I still loved it.

This would be perfect for being placed on hold during a phone call.
What can this strange device be? When I touch it, it brings forth a sound.

At the 3 minute mark, it really starts to sound like that "panning doppler effect vehicles" section of Kraftwerk's "Autobahn". That's the nicest thing I can say about it...
