Thanks, that means a lot to me, as I highly respect your tastes and really enjoy reading your posts here!
The rule is very simple really... Marcelo will release anything he likes, and he does have wildly eclectic tastes!
Yes, they did reform and performed some live concerts with Ronaldo Rodrigues from Caravela Escarlate on keyboards.

That's pretty cool, although I suspect that if you play in a band as stylistically full-breed and to-the-point as Escarlate this implies an overall knowledge of national traditions in rock/pop.
Eagerly awaiting more from Escarlate themselves, btw. They got a vinyl issue of their album from Apollon Records in my (initial) hometown of Bergen here in Norway, you know! It's pretty damn good as well, I think - reminiscent (to me) of Sagrado (at their best), the Casa das Maquinas Maravilhas (at its best), Som Nosso de Cada Dia's Snegs and so on.

Speaking of Casa das Maquinas, they have also reformed around 10 years ago with my fellow bassist from Mahtrak, Fabio Cesar on bass. The band is still going by the way, but he left a couple of years ago.

Wow, that Caravela Escarlate record is even better than I remembered. It stands right next to the masters of the old - like a mix of Yes (the Yes album era) Camel and Floyd. Brilliantly arranged, played and recorded.
I just released a very heavy and raw psychy Brazilian prog rock single. Errs more on zeuhl than MPB, but it's all in Portuguese.

^ Marco, this sounds great! Thx for posting.

This song also has a particularly amazing arrangement (of a tune by Villa-Lobos, no less)

Yesterday I stumbled upon this video of Som Imagnário on TV in 1970. It seems it's been around for ages on Youtube, but somehow I had never seen it before. For those not in the know, Som Imaginário was the support band of Milton Nascimento for some years. The band recorded three highly regarded albums (Matança do Porco being my favorite). The band at the time consisted of Zé Rodrix (organ and vocals), Wagner Tiso (organ), Luis Alves (bass), Robertinho Silva (drums), Fredera (guitar) and Tavito (12-string guitar). The song they play is Feira Moderna, by Beto Guedes and Lô Borges.
I’m digging this gem
