    RIP, Sonny Troy, (Gagliarchives)

    For those who may not have heard the father of Tom Gagliardi (host of the long running internet radio show, Gagliarchives) has passed away.

    An internationally known guitarist from the Philadelphia and South Jersey area known professionally as
    Sonny Troy (Thomas Gagliardi Sr.) with 45 years experience from
    Las Vegas clubs, to the "Mike Douglas Show" to Cancun Jazz Festival(1992).
    Sonny played two inaugurations for President Reagan("81" and"85"), and played in
    the East room of the White House for President Bush's 1992 Christmas party. He conducted and played for Frankie Avalon, Bobby Rydell, Paul Anka, Connie Francis, Annette Funicello, Peggy Lee, and various other jazz groups, he has also taught guitar for over 30 years.

    May he rest in peace.

    Very, very sorry to hear this bad news for Tom! My condolences.

    I wonder if his father played with Guy Lombardo's band? Sounds like something he would have done.

    Condolences to Tom and family. I wasn't aware of his father's music career.

    Condolences. I had NO idea Tom's father was a major dude.
