Thank You
Lol! I just now checked it out as I thought it was the sampler track that was around for some time.
The young Hammill is taken from the BBC Timepieces program, if I am not mistaken.
Looking forward to this!
I'm happy to hear about the streaming. Been talking up this lovely little nugget for a while now but it's damned hard to find places to stream it online. Hoping I can send a few additional happy listeners toward the album as it becomes available
If you're actually reading this then chances are you already have my last album but if NOT and you're curious:

Such a cool album.

HereÂ’s a recent-ish article talking about streaming release date:

^^ May I ask, since you are somewhat close to the source on this...is "We Persuade" still essentially a single, and a full album is due at some point down the road?
I know FSOL were wonderful back in the day, releasing singles that were essentially albums unto themselves (Cascade, Lifeforms), and I see some similarity with this one.

^^ So far there have been two releases. The first was a Record Store Day limited edition vinyl (Monstrous Psychedelic Bubble) that was effectively a single with different mixes. The second release was the album (We Persuade Ourselves We Are Immortal), which in true FSOL style is more of the same but with added ingredients! As you say they have form for this and it is definitely akin to the examples you quote. I don’t think there is anything else to come though.
Both are now available on their Bandcamp. I went for the vinyl releases because they were a bit special and the artwork is superb.
Ah, I found it: a year or two ago "We Persuade Ourselves" was planned to be released as a single from an upcoming album called "Listening Beyond the Head Chakra." I'm wondering if that is still a thing, or if it transformed into the actual "We Persuade Ourselves" release we've gotten already.

Sorry, just saw your question. I don’t know the answer but I can ask. I’ve heard of that Head Chakra future release... I’ll ask if Persuade is meant to be on that.
I’m happy to be in the above video on drums at the 1:33 (ish) and 2:00 mark. Im still a nerd about that stuff so I was excited to learn I was included, lol. P Weller is toward the end on grand piano. And yeah, that’s Hammill from the 80s! ;-)
Niiiice!

My "interview" with Gaz from Amorphous Androgynous re: working with Hammill (and a million other things):
http://www.vandergraafgenerator.co.uk/aa_gaz.htm
Superb and detailed interview, I really enjoyed reading that. Gaz is Facebook friends with one of my best mates, they both have a Manchester connection, but I think he just friended him because he was a fan on FSOL and AA. My mate has been trawling the official covid data and producing his own analysis this past year, and he is now the only authority on the subject that Gaz will trust!
