I have not seen actual words that say Fripp will play; just that he is directing / presenting these shows during the OCG VII project that begins May 19th or so. No direct diary affirmation either.

Edit: Well, news on dgmlive.com uses Fripp and playing in the same sentence, so I guess its likely.

Big fan of Fripp/Crimso, but no interest in attending a show put on by his cult.

IIRC, the last time he and the OCG came to the States, he directed while playing in the circle. (I didn't see any of those shows--I'm going by what I remember reading.)

    There's a Cult of Fripp?

What do they do, sit around doing cross-picking exercises and not taking pictures of each other?

If Fripp plays, how will you be able to tell?

I imagine this time around he will be off stage in a faraday cage will all players signing NDAs regarding what he played, when he played and so on.

Am I alone in loving the fact that the orchestra was milling around, sounding like a cat loose on a harpsichord?

If they were doing a gig in the San Francisco Bay area I'd be there in a heartbeat.

Me, too, Ian. I think I'm going to make this gig, even if I go alone on the train. But I am confused - on the DGM site when I clicked on tickets for the NY show they were $25 which in my book, is still a major bargain. I didn't buy the tickets yet and now I'm not sure what to do but if it turns out I don't need tickets and it is free, I will certainly donate the $25 to the church when I get there.

I am confused that there are tickets for sale and was told(in writing via email) that they are free...I am actually gonna call the person at the NYC church that wrote me and see if I can clear this up..Still, $25 is still a 2nd best thing after free...But nothing beats a really good free show...but if you commute into NYC for a free show, with train/subway fare, food/beverage, etc., it can still add up the $$$

I'd still rather spend $25 on music than anything else. We're living in a country where it now costs close to $500 to take a family of four out to a major sporting event if you want good seats, a soda, and nearby parking. My significant other had seats for a Philadelphia Flyers hockey game recently and when I saw the amount written on the ticket, I almost had a seizure. We're talking in excess of $500 for a family of four and God forbid someone wants a snack or souvenier. The Flyers' jerseys alone are more than $100@.

So I'll spend under $100 to take a train which will get me from Philly to NYC in an hour and 15 minutes and that amount will include seeing a genius and hear music I'd hear nowhere else. And if I take myself out to a bistro in NY beforehand for a glass of wine and a salad, big deal. I'm worth it
