aint heard any news from them in years

Check them out on facebook. They post now and again. Were just in Japan for a show a couple of months ago.
I think they have been working on an album for a few years off and on. The guitarist/singer has been putting out albums and a soundtrack the past couple of years.
American Hollow - my prog band.
I know for a fact that they have. But there's been some cases of illness, at least one more pregnancy (I believe), challenges concerning commitments to their dayjobs and not least their other musical projects. But there's the odd gig now and then, if only a handful a year - at the most.
I was hoping for a new release by them this year, but we'll see.
"Improvisation is not an excuse for musical laziness" - Fred Frith
"[...] things that we never dreamed of doing in Crimson or in any band that I've been in," - Tony Levin speaking of SGM
one of my favourite bands of 90's... I would love to see them coming out with something new
The last few studio album have been coming every 4 years and since the last was in 2007 i'd say it was time. As much as i enjoy Barker's side stuff there's nothing like a new Anekdoten record. Patiently waiting...
"The wind is slowly tearing her apart"
Sad Rain
Anekdoten
I'm not holding my breath out too much... Their recent studio albums have not hit the spot with me....
That Barker Spanish film soundtrack is OK (almost as good as Symphonic Holocaust), though
Just ordered the movie (I'm a sucker for Spanish movies... especially for the actresses Spanish women are kind of my Achille's heel)
my music collection increased tenfolds when I switched from drug-addicts to complete nutcases.
SH had Stefan Dimle and Reine fiske. And real Mellotron(s)
Why not try Norberto Ramos del Val's newest movie then? I'm pretty sure he has the same "problem" you haveJust ordered the movie (I'm a sucker for Spanish movies... especially for the actresses Spanish women are kind of my Achille's heel)

Am I interupting with a comment on Anekdoten?
I think Anekdoten is one of the best of the 90s wave of progressive rock. I like their differing styles, all of them, but prefer their earlier outputs. Anekdoten and After Crying are at the top of my list of bands to see. I think they've evolved considerably from their KC roots.
What can this strange device be? When I touch it, it brings forth a sound (2112)
Mozo-pg and Mellotron Storm.... twins or the same

In 2005, they were "Waking the Dead" live on 2 LP's, and by Thor, was this album terminally moribund!
Exaggerations and inept puns aside: Not my cup of tea, so I won't go into "critiquing" it.

Well, they're still alive as human beings! They posted a photo on Facebook of all of them gathered together to celebrate Vemod's 24th birthday(!) and Jan Erik Liljestrom's 50th birthday.
I thought, Until All The Ghost Are Gone, was pretty good. But of course, I like just about all of their material.
The older I get, the better I was.
Mark Zuckerberg asked me this very question last week!
