Never let good music get in the way of making a profit.
I'm only here to reglaze my bathtub.

A great loss of a very talented gutarist! So sad.
He also played bass on this splendid album: https://www.discogs.com/Pienza-Ethno...elease/3628075
Too young and too much talent and too nice of a person for me to have to be posting this.
rest in peace, James.

This is a sad one to hear.
He was a monster musician. He could play as well as the best of them.
So glad I was able to see him with Magma in the early 2000's.
Too young, indeed...

Very saddened. I got to know James through sharing a bill with Magma in various bands over the years. He was great fun, generous and kind and was always up for hanging out and partying.
His playing and composition were, of course, exceptional. A rare talent, and perfectly suited to Magma. He, Vander and Bussonnet made an indomitable trio and were a constant in what I think of the strongest era of the band. I was fortunate enough to witness them together throughout the 2000’s on a number of occasions.
Can’t think of anything to add. This is pretty devastating news. Especially knowing he leaves a relatively young family behind.
RIP
His latest project, just released on Soleil Zeuhl
my music collection increased tenfolds when I switched from drug-addicts to complete nutcases.
Rest easy James.
I saw him with magma and One Shot.., great player
no tunes, no dynamics, no nosebone
So sorry to hear this. He was magnificent.
I especially enjoy his work on the very first One Shot and the Pienza, but I never heard dud playing from him. Way too young.

Interview with James MacGaw, the guitarist from Magma in May 2015 in Victorville, QB. The director, Laurent had a engaging interview with him. This is raw footage with no editing or sound mixing yet.
Then, there is this piece of utter idiocy, which shows the wrong damned Magma!
