A gentleman is defined as someone who knows how to play the accordion, and doesn't.
RIP to a genuine leviathan of the keyboard. Even if he'd vanished before he formed Elektric Band, Chick's rep would be intact.
I only just heard.
Was perusing YouTube and saw Rick Beato talking about Chick's passing.
Very sad to hear it.
I was a big fan especially the RTF material.
Luckily I got to attend two RTF gigs one of which was the reunion tour show in Toronto

One of the greatest jazz musicians/composers of all time. He's a Miles, Trane, or Mingus for me....the next generation. Friends (on vinyl) going on tonight and a drink. RIP Armando Anthony "Chick" Corea.
I just switched off the news because it was the just same old story of the last year. I opened my iPad to see this tragedy. Why wasn’t this the lead story across the networks?
A true giant of music and a shocking loss, RIP, but we have so much treasured music to honour his memory.
A Giant indeed. RIP sir , and thank you.
Chick and Herbie played a tour a while back that hit Massey Hall and I skipped it. For no good reason. I literally sat at home that night and did nothing. I am kicking myself now for such stupidity. I already regretted it shortly after, but so much more so now.

So, so many hours spent listening to his music over the past nearly fifty years of my life. His legacy is secure.

Happy with what I have to be happy with.
A terrible loss. Aside from his groundbreaking work with Return to Forever, he was hands down my favorite Jazz pianist aside from Bill Evans.

Completely stunned. He was as huge as Keith Emerson to me when I first started getting into crazy keyboard playing as a little kid. Impossible to overstate Chick’s influence. Man this one is rough.
Well, crap.
RIP
Great, great player.
It is kinda funny to say that someone had an exquisite touch on something as plastic as a Fender Rhodes, but Chick REALLY did.
Rest In Peace

"Death to false 'support the scene' prog!"
please add 'imo' wherever you like, to avoid offending those easily offended.
I am destroyed.
Chick has been on of the guiding lights of music for me for ....3 decades at least.
"And this is the chorus.....or perhaps it's a bridge...."
Sorry to hear that. What a great loss. Rest in peace.
Heartbroken to learn about Mr. Corea. Rest in Peace
Crap.
Crap crap CRAAAAP!!!
And I finally just got around to picking up the second RTF album.
RIP to one of my musical heroes.
I'm holding out for the Wilson-mixed 5.1 super-duper walletbuster special anniversary extra adjectives edition.
Thanks for a great life of music, Chick. RIP.

Ah, shit.
Rest well, Armando.
You earned it and then some.
"Genius" gets tossed around a bit too easily these days.
But there is no question Chic was a genius.
A true giant!
And if there were a god, I think it very unlikely that he would have such an uneasy vanity as to be offended by those who doubt His existence - Russell
I took guitar lessons in high school from a teacher who was deeply into the whole Chick Corea/Al Di Meola/Return To Forever thing. Of course it took me years for me to reach a point where I enjoyed listening to that stuff. I did develop an appreciation and eventually saw the Return To Forever reunion tour in 2008. That show blew me away.

RIP Chick! What a surprise. Those are some eloquent last words from him. My condolences to everyone here who was such a big fan. I'm only really familiar with a little of his work, but I'll listen to what I have now.
Happily in recent years got to see both modern iterations of RTF, Burton/Corea and the Vigil band. RIP.
