91 Twins were 12-13 after 25 games. Plenty o .500 teams make playoffs from that spot

On April 20th 1991, the Twins were 2-9 with Jack Morris at 0-3. Fans were losing their shit because Morris was the highest paid pitcher in baseball.

So happy I don't really get into baseball until hockey is over. From what I've seen, the Yankees so far are a train wreck. The strikeout/walk/HR is producing many more K's than anything else. Good thing baseball is a marathon.

Some genius at MLB Network determined that this was a good idea. It's bad enough we need to listen to four broadcasters discuss everything except the action on the field, now we have to watch the same four broadcasters take up half the screen while doing so.

The way they have been playing I would have thought you would want the picture even smaller.

    Nice try.

They just took four out of six games and now head to Baltimore.

    I agree.

You can't change one rule like that without changing others that are affected.

And, please, let's drop this idiotic runner on second in extra innings BS.

Dont blame Manfred for no hitter rule.

    That's 1991 and Fay Vincent's committee crap.

No one really cared about the change truly until the modern 7 inning double header BS.

Give him a couple of no hot innings from the first game. Braves managed one hit in 14 innings of baseball yesterday.

Or, rather, what the Braves are calling baseball because that was a clownshow, bro.

Manfred is the commissioner now, and the guy who implemented the 7-inning double-header. So, he's 100% to blame.

It used to be that any completed game (e.g. rain shortened) could be considered for a no hitter.

Fay and his committee changed the definition for no hitters that it HAD to be nine innings or more.

What IS a no hitter was changed - if this madbum event happens in 1990 - its a no hitter by rule then.

OR.....just play the game until somebody wins, like they've been doing for over a century.

Baseball insists on trying to fix problems that don't exist.
