Hmmz - 37 seems a little high...are you sure some of those weren't AA catchers?

The Blue Jays and the Rays played each other last night. During a play in the 6th inning, the Rays' Kevin Kiermaier slid into home plate and picked up a card . That card was from Alejandro Kirk's wrist band that fell out on the tag.

On the card: the Blue Jays' game plan on pitching to Rays' hitters.

The Jays are apparently pissed off at Kiemaier and the Rays about this. Shouldn't they be more upset with Kirk for not securing his card?

I guess Kiermaier claimed he thought it was his own. But, of course, he's not giving it back. If I had to blame someone, it would be Kirk. And, I'm guessing Kirk would have done the same thing.

But, how about the fact that these players need reminder cards in the first place?

How could any team have a 90% chance of making the playoffs in April?

I blame Wynton, what was the question?

They had a great team ... on paper.

Just when you think you've seen it all, the Yankees scored one run during a 30-pitch inning by the Texas pitcher who walked three batters, threw a wild pitch and struck out three. Not one ball was put into play.

They were the Boston Marathon colors so it's the continued support of Boston Strong campaign. They've also been winning in them so are likely to keep using them given players superstitious nature.

I was flipping thru the channels when I stumbled onto the game. First thought was what the hell were they wearing? Did their unis get stolen and the borrowed some from the local softball team? Then I checked my beverage when I found out it was the Red Sox. Thanks for clearing that up!

Well, the Massachusetts Red Stockings went back to their regular uniforms today ( ), but it looks like it didn't help.

Those are their alternate jerseys. The yellow ones were to commemorate the lives lost in the Marathon bombing.

See, if I was one to rub people's noses into epic series losses...

But, I know better when it comes to baseball. Gloating always comes back to bite you in the ass.

I will state that terrible umpiring definitely affected the outcome of last night's game in Boston.

Amen. Whomever was umpiring first base looked like a heart attack waiting to happen. There was a play in foul territory and when he was "running" over to call it, it looked like he was carrying bowling balls in his pants.

    Big series starts tonight, polmico.

May the best team win - which is probably the Bravos.

Al East has some interesting shit going on, too. Yankees are clinging to a WC slot and have a very tough time with their final six against Toronto (beginning tonight in Toronto) and then three games in the Bronx against the Rays.

Red Sox and have it super easy against two of the worst teams in MLB: The Orioles and the Nats.

But, it's baseball, so anything can happen, right?

Cardinals are seemingly unconscious. Won 16 straight!

I could certainly see the Braves choking away the division.

I’d like to see Austin Riley crush every ball pitched his way and give a little more legitimacy to his MVP consideration.
I want to dynamite your mind with love tonight.

They started the year sweeping them and will probably finish sweeping them. So much for #1 pick.

^^ They still have a chance. They're only one game ahead of AZ in the loss column.

And just look at those D-backs at a whopping 53 games out of first place.
