As bad as the Orioles are now the umpires are screwing them out of games.

    Seriously.

Can barely win one game against the lowly Marlins, then go on to beat Milwaukee 12-0 yesterday. Crazy season.

The umpires have been so awful this season.

Lol. I stopped watching the Tampa/Bos game in I think the 7th or 8th, TB 6- BOS 8. Checked the score hours later, TB 11- BOS 10 in extra innings.

The runner beats out the throw to first but is called out. Orioles can't challenge because they lost a challenge earlier and the next batter hits a home run. They lose by one run. They are better off losing, just not that way.

I got giddy when the Braves went up five games. I should’ve known better. The NL East will come down to the last week of play. Braves should make some hay in the next week and a half, though. Nats, Marlins and the Rox are all coming to Atlanta. Braves barely split two games in Denver, but the home and road Rox are two very different clubs. (And, yeah, that’s usually true, but it’s ridiculously true this year. They will set a record for home/road splits.)

The Phillies have an "easy" schedule, but they end the season against the Marlins, whom they just can't beat, for some reason.

^ The Marlins are basically half a good team. Their team ERA is 11th in the Majors. They can't hit, and I'm sure digging deeper in their pitching stats will reveal some flaws, but they are not a pushover opponent despite their record. Classic spoiler team.

While poking around on the team stats page on MLB, I noticed the Dodgers have a team ERA under 3.00 (2.98--close but still under). That hasn't happened since 2015 (Cards, 2.94).

O's score 9 in bottom of eighth and give up 3 in top of ninth to win 9-8.

Did the Yanks catch the Rays yet?

Since Hunter Renfroe came back from his father's funeral he's been close to the best player in baseball. What a throw last night to end the game and the HR the inning before was pretty epic too.

I hope they don't catch on too fast that you don't try to go for an extra base when Renfroe is involved in the play. I'll be charitable and grant that Wendle probably thought it was in the bag when he saw Santana's belly-flop into the turf.

Not yet. They wanted to keep things interesting.

The Orioles are so desperate to win their pitcher leveled a runner trying to score from third.

Is Abad angling for a job with the Ravens' secondary?

Yeah, that was pretty embarrassing. That was one of two bonehead plays.

So, today, as we all know, is the 20th Anniversary of 9/11. In the wake of that tragedy, the return of baseball helped the nation begin to move forward in some way. A New York team was in the World Series. It helped build national unity. (Too bad my team lost.)

So, of course, tonight's Mets/Yankees game at Citi Field is being broadcast on national TV. It's a pretty big deal to many people, as it should be.

For public relations, this does give baseball an opportunity to affirm its role in helping to weave the America fabric. I assure you the PR people are all over this.

For the sake of the game, it would be great to see a solid head-to-head match on the field.

So, who does MLB baseball put behind home plate?

    You got it.

    Angel Hernandez.

Indians get no-hit for the 3rd time this season. That's gotta be a record, doesn't it?

O's are back in form losing a seven inning double header giving up 22 runs. Giving up four in the seventh to lose 11-10 and giving up eleven in the seventh to lose 11-2. O's are tied with Diamondbacks for #1 pick.

You would think if your team has homered three times by the seventh inning they wouldn't be losing 22-6.
