Gigs you missed in 2020 due to Covid

Without entering into a debate about the validity of the lockdown,
here are gigs I missed during 2020:

    Brand X
    Nic Mason Saucerful Secrets
    Brian Wilson
    Musical Box
    Caravan
    Hackett
    Van Der Graff
    Fleetwood Mac Tribute
    Yes tribu.. Sorry, "Yes"

I wonder how many I will end up actually seeing?

In terms of shows where I had tickets: They Might be Giants, Caspian, Maserati, Anna Meredith, Faith No More, Gojira, Deftones, Poppy, Deafheaven, Dance with the Dead, Big Ears Festival (not listing all of those individually), Roger Waters.

Figure I lost out on probably at least a few dozen more that wouldn't have been announced until closer to the show date.
If you're actually reading this then chances are you already have my last album but if NOT and you're curious:

Also, Ephemeral Sun: it's a thing and we like making things that might be your thing: https://ephemeralsun.bandcamp.com

I haven't been to a concert since March 13th 2020 (Hansford Rowe Trio). I usually go to about two per week so I guess I missed quite a few. Just limiting the list to out-of-town events that I had planned to attend in 2020:

Other Minds Festival (San Francisco), April 2nd to 5th
    FIMAV (Victoriaville, Quebec), May 15th & 16th
Next Music From Tokyo (Montreal) May 17th
    Guelph Jazz Festival, September
Edge Fest (Ann Arbor, Michigan), October

Closer to home there was of course no Ottawa BluesFest (where I would have finally seen King Crimson for the first time), no Ottawa Jazz Festival, and no IMOO Fest (a local improvised music festival curated by me).

Eventually festivals and large arena shows will return. But it will be a whole lot harder for smaller independent shows to return since so many live music venues have gone out of business. So even when live music is allowed to return there aren't going to be very many places for artists to play.

The ones that still hurt, since I live in a country where there is no abundance of concerts of our kind of music:

    Van der Graaf Generator
    Frith/Greaves/Cutler (fuck!)
    Irreversible Entanglements

I had tickets for all three and never had a chance to catch any of these acts live

But ok, I survive. Isn't it all about that?

    Had tickets for:
Big Big Train (last chance to see that lineup, grr) and Izz
King Crimson and Zappa Band with Mike Keneally
    Alan Parsons

Very likely would have seen Brand X with Randy McStine. And Progstock. BTW isn't it about the time they'd start announcing this year's Progstock lineup, or was that February?

Its a very sad time for bands, I fear that many will not financially survive. It may take until sometime during 2022 to get this under control with vaccines and that's if we're lucky. Sorry to be gloomy but, sadly realistic

    The Eagles (twice)

Both shows were rescheduled & postponed again. Marino has not rescheduled the show I was supposed to see & AXS says no refunds if cancelled officially
