Our own Bucka001 posted this interview on YouTube, so I thought it would be good to give it here. Besides Peter's comments on his personal life and his music - "the saxes or my voice was not the thing, the driving force of VDGG was the organ and drums" - there are some really interesting insights on the whole movement from the 9.00 mins up to about 20mins of the clip. He speaks about other bands - "we and King Crimson were the scary ones", "The Nice were a better band than ELP" etc - and how the whole thing began to take shape through an interaction with classical and jazz music (he names in particular for VDGG Ligeti and Messiaen as an influence). The most insightful remark is how everything "felt possible" back then, and how everybody was sort of obliged to write challenging stuff for accomplished musicians.
It's good to listen to somebody who was actually there and active in forming the music we love speaking about the late 60's milieu, and Peter's wit and presence shine in this one. Such a humble and grounded guy.
