    Ummagumma was probably my 2nd game changer, the first was Freak Out. Until '66 I was all about British invasion and related - Beatles, DC5, Byrds, Lovin' Spoonful, Yardbirds etc.
    My dad worked at an AM radio station (WJHO in Opelika AL) and while I was killing time during his show I saw this strange looking album in one of the studios and listened to a bit of it on one of those massive turntables of the day. Needless to say it interested/scared me immediately. When I bought Absolutely Free at JC Penney it was so weird I took it back, my 15-year-old mind wasn't ready yet. Ummagumma was like ear candy, the rest as they say...
