Yeah, not likely. But it means a larger portion of the populace now has a chance to hear HCow, and that's pretty cool.

1 to 3 additional audience members is definitely wider.

A chance to hear and the interest to hear are two very removed and different things.

I don't think Henry Cow has anything to lose at this point by going to Spotify.

Btw. Just listened (from CD I assure, no need to lecture me...) In Praise Of Learning today. I love that album so much! "War" especially is so magnificent and perfect. Even though at the same time I wish it could go on little bit longer.

Do you also know Anthony Moore's version?

Of course. This means there's more potential for exposure though. Henry Cow were never a group with mass appeal, but there are still people out there who would like them but haven't heard their stuff yet. I'm trying to look at the glass as half-full.

    That's my thinking as well.

As is indeed the actual ability to do so, and especially in light of general self-insight: http://www.progarchives.com/Review.asp?id=1159462

Why not just write: "I hate it 'cause I don't understand twat of it, yet I'm proud"?

I love the fact that HC is on Spotify. I can be away from home and still listen to them if I get the itch for their music.
Or play them to someone who could like and understand their music. And maybe later buy it. If you think this is impossible I have already done it a couple of times.
Of course Spotify is evil and we still are in 1985. It was nice back then.

Now listening: Art Bears: Hopes And Fears (1978)

Now my favourite Art Bears album but some really good songs like "Joan" "Moeris Dancing" and "In Two Minds".

By the way: 1992 CD version has bonus tracks "Collapse", "All Hail!" and "Coda to Man and Boy". I have never heard those songs as they are not included on my 2003 ReR CD. How are those tracks?

^ "All Hail" was a single (IIRC), also included on the absolutely fantastic Recommended Records Sampler (2LP) in 1982. It's a hard-hitting, grooving, melodious and -binary- tune in style with the ones on The World As It Is Today.

Sounds like I need those song then. I just recently ordered that Recommended Records Sampler from ReR so at least I am getting "All Hail" soon.

The World As It Is Today is easily my favorite Art Bears record.

All Hail and Coda are some of my favorite AB moments

The Rec Rec Sampler is gonna change your life. I mean you'll still be a Finnish guy with glasses but you'll see what I mean. One of the greatest, most interesting compilation out 'dere.

I wouldn't mind if I could lose the glasses... Even though I got these only last year.

I wonder how C Cutler feels about The Cow now being on streaming? I don't think the ReR label stuff is (not sure though). It ain't going away - that is for sure. Both of our cars (2019) do not have CD players, which just fucking sucks. Its Spotify and BC downloads on the go for me 100% now. CD and vinyl at home.
