Mojo started off as northern soul around '67 but Stringfellow later moved it into the new psychedelia fad.

In 1979, The Beatles producer George Martin opened AIR Studios Montserrat, which resulted in musical artists such as Dire Straits, Paul McCartney, Duran Duran, The Police, Elton John, Jimmy Buffett and The Rolling Stones visiting the island to record albums.

It's reckoned Jim spent no more than six weeks there in total. I doubt Robert ever went anywhere near the place.

The legendary PUK studios (at least in Denmark) burned down yesterday. They were big in the 80'ties, and recorded mainly pop.

Looks beautifull, before the fire. Very sad news.
There were not many real studios i Denmark in the beginning of prog, so cinemas was used.
Vanløse Bio was one of them and some 'legenadary' albums were recorded here.
This is from the recording of Alrune Rod's first album. Denmarks answer to Kraut. Their 2 first albums were excellent !

Very few studios that size exist today, production methods have changed.
So no equipment was lost?
That is at least some relief.
I think Wisseloord still exists. Alas I couldn't find pictures from the building. Steve Hackett has recorded there and also Kayak.
No equipment, gold-records, etc. (or people) were lost, just memories. Which makes a bit strange why it caught fire.
The sound they liked was something like Toto, and their business changed when Grunge became popular with a raw and less polished sound.
Perhaps someone decided it would bu fun to burn the place down? I mean, there are enough idiots on this planet.

For a country the size of Denmark, the '68-'71 psych scene was rather remarkable. (I suspect a lot of band-interbreeding.)
The same goes for Belgium.
I'd like to see an early rock family tree for Denmark/Belgium.
