Thread: New Robert Fripp video (2012)

  1. #26
So I sent an email to DGM Live curiously wondering where my order (Travis/Fripp Follow and '71 Marquee) placed on 10.12 was. Always an adventure!

The video was recorded on October 29 and 30, 2010 and I'd guess the last of Fripp's contributions to the album were recorded in 2010.

i thought Fripp's just retired from live performance no?..and as much as i'm not religious, the idea of playing in places that are QUIET and almost reserved for such, invites me/makes it that much more powerful in terms of music.

Interesting that in his last comment on the subject (Oct. 10th), he seems to leave open the possibility of further performances in that kind of setting:

"12.20 In response to your September 25, 2012 Diary entry.

If I did not feel (joy) I would sell my guitars and quit playing.

My choice was to end playing publicly in performance contexts mediated by commerce. The quality of my life and personal happiness has increased remarkably since."

    Still waiting.

Funnily enough, DGM emailed back and said it would be shipping at the end of the week--the week of 11.12 . . .
