I'm soooo over this version, after buying almost every release they've put out since Jon left, hoping and hoping it would have some magic..but not for me.

I was browsing on Amazon today, listening to samples of new music from bands, and gave the new Live Yes a sample and I couldn't take it anymore after 2 song samples.
It's the same material I've heard a million times, but just not as good.
I did hear some of Downes Braide Association samples and it was much more inspiring and enjoyable to me than later Yes. Now that's the Geoff Downes keyboard playing I remember. Vocals and lyrics are also A plus.
Might even pick up a cd of theirs after Christmas*oh boy gift card..lol

That being said, if it still gives you pleasure and enjoyment, I'm not putting anyone down..just no longer my cup o tea.

Speaking of Yes musicians, don't know if you've all heard this but it's kind of a rare event. This is a song I co-wrote with Jon Anderson that Jon Davison ended up singing on my band In Continuum's most recent album "Acceleration Theory Part Two: Annihilation". I think they're both incredible singers and their range is just in the stratosphere. Lots of Yes influence on the In Continuum albums (and even on Sound of Contact, the band IC was born out of). Yet it goes in new directions with those styles and types of sounds.

and here's another one you might like with Jon Davison. These are unofficial uploads someone did of our album so... the quality isn't as good as the HQ download of the album and CD but you get the idea. Me on keys and Marco Minnemann & Nick D'Virgilio on drums, Fernando Perdomo, Randy McStine, John Wesley, Steve Hackett and Steve Rothery on guitars, Matt Dorsey from SOC on bass, myself, Gabriel Agudo, Leticia Wolf and Michael Sadler of Saga on vocals. It's the biggest production I've ever put together. Some of my favorite musicians and people involved. Jon D almost rivals Steve Hackett as one of the nicest people in the music industry!

This is what I never understand.

Let's say, for argument's sake, that Arc of Life morphs into Yes (highly unlikely, but I'm just riffing). You would still be able to revisit their back catalog of material, concerts and enjoy them "at their best." Unless Sherwood, Davison, et al, make the original recordings unavailable, of course.

My guess is that Yes are nearly over, I hope they can do the Relayer tour next year but after that I'm not sure I want to see/hear their performance levels decline any further. I'm interested what the AOL album will sound like and if they do play live maybe they can play some Yes music too, there might be future in that for them but I don't think it should be called Yes.

Hi Scott, I'm not sure I can put my thoughts in a way that would help someone understand, but I will try.
Since the departure of Jon Anderson, there is no Chris Squire,Tony Kaye, Rick Wakeman, Jon Anderson, and very little Alan White.
I've tried to like Heaven and Earth, and don't after repeated listening(hop skip and jump through songs). I bought Topographic Drama and that at least had some moments that caught my attention, but I think I've listened to it twice.
I've bought all their live DVD's, but don't watch them with this line up, after watching it after buying.
I did like the one with clips with Benoit David and Oliver Wakeman.
I love Fly From Here and that was the last good Yes album for me.

Reader's Digest version: I simply don't get the Yes sound or pleasure from this line up of Yes, and it feels like a band on life support to me..let it go Steve H!

I do hope the new album is creative and a good album for them. Then it's time to hang it up and each go their own way.

Hope that helps Scott, and remember, we're all different and you think one way and I the other, and that's ok, there is no wrong or right answer.

Are you responding to me, or Steve983?

If you're responding to me, then you really didn't address my comment.

Nothing these guys do, aside from coming into your home and stealing your music, should affect how you enjoy it. Do you really not enjoy Close to the Edge because Heaven & Earth was so bad?

Let these guys do whatever the hell they want. You may enjoy it, you may not, but you lose nothing if they continue.

Wow, that is a beautiful cover!

Yes, I was responding to you and I don't quite understand why you are getting an attitude and speaking to me this way.
    I'm done!

This is exciting - I am looking forward to hearing this record. Does anyone know if any tracks or teasers will be released earlier than the official scheduled release? I hope it has its own sound - not something that sounds like a clone of Yes. I would be excited to see them perform and I would be happy if they played no Yes material at all, but I would not be surprised if they felt they had to play a bit of Yes due to the association with Yes. I recently read an interview with members of the Allman Betts Band wherein the majority of the questions asked were about the Allman Brothers - which it seemed (understandably) disappointed the band members. The band members noted that they will usually play a couple of Allman Brothers tunes in their set, because they understand that many of the ticketbuyers are there because of the Allman Brothers association.
So I can imagine reading interviews with the AoL band and all of the questions are about Yes!

You'll all hear it soon! It sounds like the style of the songwriters as most albums do. They're in Yes so... a complete departure is probably unrealistic. If I was co-writing with them it would probably go further away from their sound just by nature of blending styles and influences but... hopefully that'll happen down the road. In the meantime, this should be fun certainly for fans of these guys and live I think it will be a great time. I look forward to it! But, then again, I look forward to ALL concerts which I have a renewed appreciation for after this pandemic... which is still on going but when we're back in action I am going to see way more shows. We can't take that for granted!

My apologies - wasn't try to have any attitude. I just don't understand the mindset.

That cover is gorgeous. Love how it invokes Roger Dean, but it's not at all a copy of his style.

Agreed. Scott's a good guy and we are usually on the same page. Might've been a full moon or something, but it's all good.

Isn't that a safe presumption one can make for just about any album these days?

You calling me a werewolf, TopCat? Look, I may not be shaving every day during the pandemic, but that's out of line.

    I take back the apology.

Excited to hear/read Jimmy Haun is alive and well. Sometime back, I thought he recovered after getting hit by a car, moved somewhere sort of off the grid, kind of stopped talking to some folks and was doing radio and television work/jingles for a living, kind of like Eddie Jobson.

    Welcome back, Jimmy!

Frontiers Music Srl is excited to announce the release of ARC OF LIFE's self-titled debut album on February 12, 2021. Arc Of Life is a new progressive rock supergroup featuring three members of the current YES line-up, vocalist Jon Davison, bassist/vocalist Billy Sherwood, and drummer Jay Schellen, one of the most interesting talents in the “new” progressive rock scene in the US, Dave Kerzner (ex-Sound of Contact) on keyboards, and Jimmy Haun (also featured on YES albums in the past) on guitar. Fans can get their first taste of the band's forthcoming debut with the new single and video, 'You Make It Real'.
