New Video: Song "The Seeker" by Plastic Hammer

Plastic Hammer is the alternate ego for Marvin Cripps, Richard Hermans and Darel Stevens.
Originally recorded sometime in 2015-16? Over the internet with stops in CA and Michigan.

Original song featuring 3 members(Darel Stevens, Marvin Cripps and Richard Hermans) from the band Plastic Hammer, including our dear friend Darel who we dedicate this version to.
Darel passed away much too early in 2017. His music and beautiful soul still lives on in his music and our hearts and minds.
Darel's fairy dust and magic can be heard sprinkled throughout the song.

    CREDITS:
    Music&Lyrics Marvin Cripps& Richard Hermans
    with Darel Stevens
    Lead Vocal: Richard Hermans
    Epilog: Marvin Cripps

Really nice stuff, Richard. Different sort of vibe than the other tunes but still most definitely you.
If you're actually reading this then chances are you already have my last album but if NOT and you're curious:

    Thanks John.
Yep, Marv sent me the music he did as an improv, and I started writing lyrics and the vocal melody, and then he added his share of lyrics and epilog at the end.
I added the flute from my Wavestation for the epilog.

Over the years I'd lost my way when doing vocals, using inspiration from some of my favorite singers and lost my identity.
This was more of my Richard Harris inspiration. lol
These days I quit trying to emulate anyone else, and just let it out.

Thanks again for watching, and I appreciate the feedback.

I honestly think it's one of the hardest things, because I think there's a natural tendency to gravitate toward something that may have influenced us.

It's a personal joke of mine...I've got that Deckard's Dream CS-80 clone capable of an incredibly vast number of sonic possibilities, but sooner or later I always seem to end up riffing on the main titles from Blade Runner

While I sometimes hear inflections in your voice that may remind me of some other singer, I've never really heard anything that's outright trying to ape someone else either. So, that's really awesome

    Keep 'em coming!!

Thanks John, and the demos I've heard of Deckard's Dream are wonderful. I can see how easy it would be to drift off in analog bliss.
I think sometimes after working so hard to compose and structure, as well as practice a song, it's fun to just do something without it having to mean anything.

    Thanks again.
