Great album, great sound (albeit with a few dropouts), frustratingly truncated due to the way the radio show was run. The title piece was half over before tape started rolling even though it's almost a half hour long.

    Horace Parlan (1931-2017) R.I.P.

Just read that pianist Horace Parlan died after a long illness.Loved his playing with Mingus and his records as leader on Blue Note and Steeplechase. His artistry was the more amazing considering he had limited use of his right hand because of the effects from childhood polio.

    Thanks for the music.

I don't like country music, but I don't mean to denigrate those who do. And for the people who like country music, denigrate means 'put down.'- Bob Newhart

My holy trilogy of his is: Jazzmessage From Poland (1972), Purple Sun (1973) and TWET (1974). All three recorded live, with (the first one) or without the audience (the latter two).

Right now, it's the cheapest I've seen. Around 21 dollars from Amazon vendors. I don't know why the list price is so high? It's just a no frills cardboard box.

It's still a big set to press, and remastering five
lbums takes some time & money.

Wayside carried it at one time for about half the price, which is where I bought it.
