RIP Naná!.
Highest recommendations with Codona:
"Codona was a free jazz and world fusion group which released three self-titled albums on the ECM label in 1978, 1980 and 1982.
The trio consisted of Don Cherry (trumpet, melodica, organ (RIP), Collin Walcott (tabla, sitar, percussion) (RIP), and Nana Vasconcelos (berimbau, percussion, voice).
The name of the group is derived from the first two letters of each of the member's first names." - Wikipedia.

This might deserve a thread of its own but some of you might want to free up some disk space on your computers.

I don't like country music, but I don't mean to denigrate those who do. And for the people who like country music, denigrate means 'put down.'- Bob Newhart
Yeah I saw that too, Jerjo: http://www.wwoz.org/blog/426716#
Review of the 2009 CODONA Trilogy box, which collects all three CODONA albums into one nice, budget-priced set.
I'd like to recommend a very nice debut album Tideland by Hashima from Belgrade, Serbia.

I've been trying to decide on a David Binney CD to pick up, and I think I just found it. It's an Alex Sipiagin album with Binney, Adam Rogers, and Eric Harland on drums. Thanks Mo!
Yeah, Binney's hip. I dig The Luxury of Dreaming.

I blame Wynton, what was the question?
There are only 10 types of people in the World, those who understand binary and those that don't.

That is a beautiful tune! I haven't heard about this trio before.
I dig the Mark Turner trio. I like his sound. And Jeff Ballard's drumming is music in itself.
And overall, as a trio they sound beautiful.
Rob Brown makes me a little antsy, kinda like Tim Berne. Too restless.
