Great keyboardsolo starts around 6. minutes
"International Munich based Krautrock fusion supergroup fronted by Klaus Weiss. They made a dreamy, yet powerful fusion with an abundance of solos, extensively featuring Belgian guitarist Philip Catherine on the debut. "
Nice one Zeuhl.
Amancio D'Silva, I'd like more recommendations like this one too:
I just got Chick Corea Trio - Trilogy in the mail yesterday. It's a live 3 disc set for under $20. Brian Blade on drums and Christian McBride on bass; they all sound great together! Very clean and crisp recording too.
I recently discovered pianist, Austin Peralta on a YT video, playing in one of Virgil Donati's bands. He was only 22 when he passed away. This must've been his last album. A very nice modern jazz album. R.I.P. Austin.
That Austin Peralta thing is cool....gonna check some more of that out!
not sure if this has been posted. couldn't find it in a search. does anyone have this album? what I've heard on YT sounds pretty darn good.

^^^The Austin Peralta is excellent!!!!Thanks for posting it, Ernie.
Fred Katz was an old Lefty from Brooklyn who played cello in drummer Chico Hamilton's chamber jazz group of the late 50's.This album,"Fred Katz-Folk Songs For Far Out Folk", was recorded in Hollywood in 1958.This cd looked interesting so I took the plunge and i'm glad I did.Hip music, with amazing arrangements and charts, all conceived by Katz, who doesn't play on the sessions.FYI, the pianist on this and several tracks is 'Johnny T Williams,' better known to the world later as composer/conducter John Williams.Guitarist is Billy Bean, vibes player is Gene Estes.

Vocalion--yeah, that's nice. I like that mingling of jazz and ethno or world beat. Reminds me a bit of something like the later Embryo stuff, Shakti, Oregon and this one:
Hell, they ain't even old-timey ! - Homer Stokes
^^Yes, I saw something about that Ahmed album the other day. Thanks for posting.
Ric Colbeck-The Sun Is Coming Up,a 1970 Fontana session is being released for the first time(afaik) in Japan.Colbeck was a trumpet player who blew with Noah Howard and a few other notables on the NY new jazz scene. This album was always mentioned as one of the free jazz holy grails, one that people wished would see the light of day on cd.
Colbeck on trumpet,Mike Osborne on alto sax,J.F.Jenny-Clark-double bass,Selwyn Lissack-drums.
A link to the order page is attached. My pre order is in.

Saw this on NPR, apparently jazz festivals are the hip thing among the millennials in South Korea.

I don't like country music, but I don't mean to denigrate those who do. And for the people who like country music, denigrate means 'put down.'- Bob Newhart
This 12 year old kid is ridiculously talented! Just in case you doubt that some people are born with a gift:

Stanley Jordan Trio - The Paris Concert ****
So many years without hearing his music ... never is too late I think and tonight´s the night!.
This is a great performance: the guitar as extension of the piano or vice versa

There are two kinds of music. Good music, and the other kind. ∞
Duke Ellington.
David Bowie - South Horizon. Here, it is a bit like Bill Bruford would say/describe, Squeaky Bam Jazz not bad if it were not those annoying 80's bass/auto drum kinda sound tunes.
that's just crazy in a good way. did you see the 60 minute segment "Little Jazz Man" which aired on January 3rd?
