needless to say that I had no idea who Rashaan was (he actually scared me with his black glasses)... It's years later that my dad told me who that was

Late-60's Rashaan was not his type of jazz either... He was more into the Illinois Jacket, Satchmo, Ella, Duke and Lionel type of stuff
my music collection increased tenfolds when I switched from drug-addicts to complete nutcases.

I should dust off my Rahsaan Mercury box and listen to it. I was really into him 20-25 years ago. Kirk, and Yusef Lateef I listened to a lot.

Really got into EST in these past couple of years. Such a shame what happened to Svensson.

Something I completely missed when it was released, but just got a couple months ago, is EST Symphony...which is EST's music played with the Stockholm Philharmonic with a jazz group that makes a great tribute to the departed Svensson.
Please don't ask questions, just use google.

Never let good music get in the way of making a profit.

I like my jazz "small" - trios, quartets, etc. But this does sound intriguing.

I don't like country music, but I don't mean to denigrate those who do. And for the people who like country music, denigrate means 'put down.'- Bob Newhart

Actually Trane, before the video of E.S.T., we'd some GoGo Penguin too:

    - NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert - (love this kind of intimate live experience!)
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=47XlUL6sRow

And we closed the evening with:

    - Medeski, Scofield, Martin & Wood - (I don't get tired of them … in any format !)
    Estival Jazz Lugano (2007) -
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fbGRE7hgdX8

Also, last night, a good friend of mine recommended me to explore the music of Kinga Głyk: a 20 years old bass player from Poland.
"She’s said to be the best Polish bass player of the new generation and a rising star of the Jazz Blues music".

Today I've been listening to her music and watching some of her videos and I liked it, for example:

Kinga Głyk - Leverkusener Jazztage 2017.

    With her father, Irek Głyk
    - Głyk P.I.K Trio -

("She began her adventure with music at the age of 12")

    Irek Głyk - wibrafon
    Patryk Głyk - perkusja
    Kinga Głyk - gitara basowa
    Gościnnie :
    Joachim Mencel - fortepian

    Gang!:

Need some advice here with the music of Andrea Keller:
"Australian pianist and composer, dedicated to the performance and creation of contemporary jazz and improvised music."

    Now I'm digging from her:

Five Below Live by Andrea Keller | Five Below

The thing is that she has numerous albums and projects and AFAIK are very different … which isn't a problem BTW.
    Any fans here?.

    Thanks in advance!.

It's a jazz group, and I happen to think it's a great record. They are a very colorful ensemble with the right attitude. Recommended!

One of the good sides of streaming: exposure.

Currently revisiting the mammoth 3 CDs The Epic by Kamasi Washington. Really good stuff on this one.

'Till this week I'd heard, both different but recommended: (IMO)

    - Transients Volume 1. (2019)
    https://andreakeller.bandcamp.com/al...ients-volume-1

"Andrea Keller created Transients as a series of trios inspired by late mentor Allan Browne’s musical philosophy. Dedicated to a collective approach to music making, the trios stem from a jazz tradition, which they interpret with an uninhibited, and sometimes unconventional, Australian accent. Each version of Transients brings with it a unique repertoire and dynamism, focussing on presenting original compositions and repertoire from the Australian jazz tradition."

    - The Komeda Project by Andrea Keller & Miroslav Bukovsky. (2018)

11 tracks composed by Krzysztof Komeda, reimagined and arranged by Andrea Keller & Miroslav Bukovsky
