What can this strange device be? When I touch it, it brings forth a sound (2112)

That was 45 minutes of symphonic prog heaven, thanks so much for the tip!

Yes, very enjoyable for anyone interested in the 'rock band as symphony' approach. Apparently, they are leaving the video up for a few days.

One can contribute a few pounds at: https://www.theenid.co.uk/events

The Enid are doing another live stream Friday November 20. Information at the same website.

I entered the thread title non-band specific. I thought there could be a generic thread for any such live stream concert notifications / comments. For example, I know Progstock is doing some more, but am not aware of the details.

Thanks for starting this thread, D.Eric. There’s so much good live-streaming music, and it seems to be gearing up again as we head into the holidays!

Last night I watched a GREAT trio performance by one of my favorite bands, Royal Jelly Jive. Performed from a piano showroom in Oakland, it’s Amy Winehouse-sequel soul or whatever, including some Winehouse songs, their own songs (which are great, and some standards.

The singer is fantastic, and the interplay between piano and bass (and some acoustic guitar) is excellent. The piano player also plays a little synth unit featuring a lot of Mellotron sounds, and some cool modulation via knobs behind it. Anyone know what that synth unit is? Is it a Minimoog?

Here’s a link to the show, which you can still watch:

I'm enjoying the video. Is the keyboardist the only original member. It sounds excellent.

Sounds a lot like PFM, very good. Without the vocals.

It is amazing to see how bands like The Enid have survived for so long without hardly any commercial success, practically unknown in North America.

    Thanks for posting.

I’ve never seen the band but read a lot about the musical-rights disagreements. Seeing them live makes Godfrey seem less like a troubled figure and more like the artist he is. Actually, I feel like I did see them once, but I can’t think where. Or did I dream it?

Can these be viewed later? The times don’t work well for me. Would love to see some.

Stageit.com does not record these for later. I think that it's up to the individual performers on their own.

With Stageit.com, one also has to be careful because the default times are US Pacific. They only convert to local after one creates an account and logs in.

The first live stream I was aware of was actually a show that I attended, though I'm not sure it was called a "stream" yet in those days.
I found out later it was on the House of Blues web site, but the video was extremely low-res and tiny, from a single, stationary camera in the back of the hall.
I ended up recording the audio from my sound card and made a "video" out of one of the tracks, using images swiped from papabear.com.

I think these are the founding members:
    Robert John Godfrey – keyboards
Steve Stewart – guitars, bass, keyboards
    Francis Lickerish – guitars
    Dave Storey – drums
    Glen Tollet – bass

Only Godfrey remains, though Storey was playing with them last year.
