    New Glass Hammer Interview

Caught up with Steve and Fred today....

For Episode 43 we catch up Steve Babb (bass) and Fred Schendel (keys) from the modern progressive rock group Glass Hammer, out of Chattanooga, TN. We get up to date on the latest album, which is a reworking of songs from their 90s albums. Updated and refreshed. We also chat about their most recent album and it's making, Dreaming City. Chat about prog festivals on land and sea, early concerts and prog faves, the nature of online prog fandom, the advances in recording since the 90s, and talk of what they have been listening to for enjoyment comes up too. Also, how they came to work with both Yes front men, Jon Anderson and Jon Davison and have them appear on some of their albums.

Davison, actually. Would have been funnier had he really been called "Davidson", as it's the perfect mix of "David" (Benoît) and "Anderson" (Jon), but even so it's pretty close.

That was a very enjoyable discussion. I'm really not a Glass Hammer fan but that was interesting. If these guys like Black Sabbath I recommend Budgie. Give them a listen, you will like them. Heavy and adventurous.

Thanks for another great interview. I'm a HUGE Glass Hammer fan, and it was cool to hear some stories about their career.
