I agree that both of those guys were video innovators and most of what they did was pretty good..........but......Mr. Bowie also did this terrible one:

It's a crap record as well- being for charity doesn't excuse that! The kind of thing I could never imagine anyone listening to for pleasure.

My favourite videos by anyone are what Bowie did with director David Mallet in 1979/80. Mallet went on to do some great promos in the 80s with Queen.

The cringe-fest no one wants to talk about:

Billy Squier has nothing on Dee and the boys.

For a really bad video the song has to be horrible too. So I've got two candidates here:

Maka ki ecela tehani yanke lo!

That's why they wore the makeup to begin with, because Gene and Paul aren't terribly good looking men. Ace and Peter were not bad looking, before they started doing drugs. If you ask me, Eric Carr was pretty good looking, though. Vinnie looks like a girl.

Maybe they thought if they were going to be throwing in a scene where he's going to pretend to play keyboards, he should wear a cape like Wakeman.

Sure they look very dated now, but thats to be expected.

And I still like the song anyway.
Godley & Creme were music video pioneers, but that doesn’t mean that every idea they had was gold. Let us not forget they were also the men behind the seizure-inducing “jump cut” editing on Wang Chung’s “Everybody Have Fun Tonight” and Rob Jungklas’ “Boystown.” The latter is lesser known, but infinitely worse. Jungklas personally holds Godley & Creme responsible for pillorying his career. The video is—and I say this without a shred of irony or understatement—completely unwatchable. If you suffer from epilepsy, best to skip it altogether! (Not posting a link, I’m only supposed to post one, the thread rules say so! Search for it yourself if you’re curious! But don’t say you weren’t warned!)

Let us also not forget, there were eighteen versions of the “Leave It” video!

This is 'serious', but they had fun and probably too much. He died of too much alcohol too long.
His son Rasmus is a big name i Denmark in pop with danish lyrics.
I looked it up and read it. It looks like some Frank Farian production though.

No one's posted this classic on PE for at least a few years, so here goes...

I don't think it would win, relative to Tommy Seebach or Billy Squier, but it's worth an honorable mention.

I only post this, because nobody did before, and it's a very strong contender. I repeat, very strong contender.
Makes me want to apologize in advance, too.

Bowie/Jagger came to my mind as well.

I cried tears of hilarity the first time I saw this video, around the 2:13 mark or so. When that ridiculous guitar appears, as though being handed down to him by the gods... I was practically choking with laughter:

(I don't know why they can't have a better quality version up there, but it's good enough for these purposes.)
