    Soilwork

Currently listening to and very much enjoying the new album from Soilwork, "The Living Infinite"
Anyone else given it a spin yet? So many different styles and influences.

Soilwork is one of my son's favorite bands. They're not afraid to change, that's for sure. Their previous album, The Panic Broadcast has progressive tendencies. The new one even more so, he tells me.

He is correct, it covers everything from fast melodic death metal to slow prog metal and all points in between AND beyond!!! And as a friend of mine, a newspaper muso journo of 15 years standing, just told me it is the first double album of melodic death metal that he's ever come across. He rated it 8/10. I rate it a 9/10.

What do you mean "questions like this"? Not a fan of death metal, so I want to know what makes it melodic? Can't believe you acted like a jerk toward me after I helped you on that music of '78 thread.

I had the impression that JIF was pretending to play Jeopardy... I got a chuckle out of it

Are they anything like Opeth and Between The Buried And Me? A friend of mine got my into those bands, even though I'm not into Death Metal.

predators portait was one i had. Still compared to "at the gates" or "in flames" or "dark tranquility" or even wintersun they are not one of the best of the genre. have not heard their new 2 cd set .
