Cool love them. But 5 Albums with most likely the same old songs?

If someone gets them please report back on titels, sound quality and Lineups.

Progressive jazz rockers Colosseum are to have five five archive ‘bootleg’ live concert CDs, to be released through Repertoire Records on Friday August 28. The five releases, which span the era 1969-1971, are of frequently dazzling quality, painstakingly remastered by digital craftsman Eroc, with the full co-operation and input of the band members.
The releases are Live At The Boston Tea Party 1969, Live At The Monterux Jazz Festival 1969, Live At Ruisrock, Turku, Finland, 1970, Live At Pipe Club, Rome, Italy 1971 and Colosseum Live '71, Canterbury, Brighton & Manchester.
The five releases all feature liner notes by renowned British rock journalist Chris Welch, with added insights from the Colosseum ranks. They chart the rapid development of the band in full flow, highlighting the band's improvisational skills, plus the creative friction, affords an incredible and rewarding listening experience.
not sure Eroc is the right man for this.

I take it the two 69 gigs will be with Litherland fronting the band, the 70 gis with Clempron singing and the last two with Farlowe, then??

    This sounds nice !

Their live album from 71 is so good !

Earlier live acts with Litherland and Reeves could be interesting !

Yes the 71 Live is more than awesome. The Morituri Te Salutant box set had even some better live versions.

So I'm really tempted, but early ones might be more interesting..

No Colisseum II. Too bad. They were a stunning live outfit in the mid '70s.
Cobra handling and cocaine use are a bad mix.

I've got boots of Montreux and Ruisrock, yes, it is Litherland on the former and even though Farlowe is listed on the latter it doesn't sound like him at all. So I assume Clempson. They're not great boots BTW. Not bad, perfectly listenable as such. But if they are really packaging these and selling as full-price discs I would hope there is some noticeable sonic improvement. I'm definitely in if that proves true.

Second Disc of the fith one is the stuff from the box set (which sounds great)

Well, according to some specialists, he "butchered" most of the Grobschnitt latest reissues

Sorry if I missed this in the link, but is this being sold as a box set or as individual releases?
Please don't ask questions, just use google.

Never let good music get in the way of making a profit.

^ I was left wondering that as well, so I don't think the article mentions it.

I am interested. Always liked this band regardless of who was singing.

Individual CDs. The Rusirock one was already released by another lable last year I think.

Box set was a bit to much. It's one of those 4CD Books like Jethro Tull are doing.

    Agree too.
I had the good fortune to see them live back in November 1977.
The only non-audience live material appears to be BBC sessions and in-concert recordings, plus an October 1977 radio/TV/soundboard in Köln.
I thought, after the death of Gary Moore, that more material or expanded quality remasters of the three albums would have surfaced, but nothing so far.
You'd have thought the names of Hiseman, Moore and Airey would attract some interest or sales.

Two Coloseum II albums have been released, but I'm still waiting for the third one. Live stuff would be welcomed as well.

Strange New Flesh was rereleased with an extra CD full of unreleased stuff (some alt. versions but a lot of new tracks).

And of Course there is a filmed live performance of the album they backed Lloyd Webber, "Variations".

Strange new flesh is one of the re-releases I have.

And Variations is indeed a augumented Coloseum II. Any information on that filmed live-performance?

It's on YT, somewhat hard to find all parts but they are all there.
