So what new Yes related music is out there? I'm thinking of just picking it all up, throwing it into a playlist, hitting shuffle, and pretending it's a new Yes album.

I haven't heard the new Jon Anderson yet. Does he sing a song with the lyrics "Hep yabbo" over and over or is this a "Yep habbo" record?

I am usually great Trevor Horn fan but those middle of the road orchestrations of Reimagines the Eighties did not do anything for me. Big disappointment for me. New Frontier was ok.

Of a new Yes album? Davison says that everybody is writing for the album, although he seems to be the main guy doing lyrics/vocal melodies. Prior reports and rumours point to everyone contributing, Davison, Howe, Downes, White, Sherwood and even possibly Squire through the use of some old recordings. I note H&E had songwriting credits from all five then members, as did From a Page. It would be unsurprising if the pattern continued.
I would guess we will see plenty of Davison co-credits, particularly as he'll often be writing lyrics to others' music. Sherwood is a prolific writer and I'm sure is there with his ideas. But equally Downes and Howe are prolific writers, and White is the 4th most credited writer of Yes songs across the band's history. So if I had to guess, I'd guess the majority of the material will be by Howe/Downes/White/Squire and a minority by Davison/Sherwood.

The orchestrations (by Julian Hinton) vary. I think some ("Blue Monday") are better than others ("Brothers in Arms"). You're right that they're sometimes safe. However, what I think Horn does on the album is get and produce great vocal performances. Tony Hadley on "What's Love Got to Do With It", for example, or Steve Hogarth on "It's Different for Girls", Gabrielle Aplin on "Dancing in the Dark".

Jon Davison is also in In Continuum Acceleration Theory Part 2: Annihilation but what's even more YESish is that one of the songs he sings I co-wrote with Jon Anderson who sang the melody on the demo. It's a song called "All That Is" which you can listen to here.
Sonic Elements itself is a music label of Sonic Reality (sound development company) and the project name for tribute albums which include Yesterday and Today: A 50th Anniversary to Yes which we did and includes Billy Sherwood, Jon Davison, Geoff Downes, Tony Kaye, Tom Brislin and Jay Schellen from the Yes world participating with others in a hybrid of authentic and re-interpreted Yes tunes and also bonus original songs (of which there are many more I co-wrote with Billy).

As for previous comments from some of you guys about the Yes side project Jon mentioned... first of all thank you for the kind words. I really appreciated reading that. All I can say officially is this. YES I do work with Jon, Billy and Jay and yes I do have actually more than one side project with various musicians from Yes. Is one of them the one Jon mentioned? Maybe. (Maybe isn't the name of the band. But a good Yes side project name none the less! haha.) I shouldn't say what the names of any new projects or bands are yet or the exact line ups until they're officially announced. I can only say that it's actually more than you think and that includes new original music. That said, in one band/project the music is co-written by me and in the other it isn't so... from that standpoint they're quite different from each other. But, anyway, there's a lot to look forward to in and around the lake!
Btw the new Steve Howe solo album is really good! Love those classic acoustic and electric guitars. We were talking about it on Sean's SOAR Live show with Fernando the other day and since then I've listened to it by Fern's recommendation and he's right. It's got some classic Howeness to it.
