Thread: Oversized plastic sleeves for box sets?

Oversized plastic sleeves for box sets?

Does anyone know if these are available and where to get these? Different sizes would be of interest for the likes of GG's Unburied Treasures, Wishbone Ash, Hackett, Procol Harum, Tangerine Dream etc.

Bags Unlimited has a selection. The 14" size is perfect for the likes of the various King Crimson umpteen-CD box sets.

We use the 14" bags from Bags Unlimited at the shop. Good for vinyl or CD box sets.

Thanks all for the input. The Gentle Giant box is a difficult one ... something like 13" x 13" x 3.25"

If used often it will eventually wear out, especially being as heavy as it is. Unless of course one has enough room to keep it in the open on the display. For the ones that don't, it would have been a nice touch to have such a custom made protective sleeve included with the purchase of the box. Small additional cost as compared to the price and convenience for the majority of buyers/users.

I also have a need for plastic sleeves for my King Crimson box sets and was thinking about searching for zip lock bags like the ones use for storing shirts and cloth items, it's much cheaper.

    Here they are:

    https://www.bagsunlimited.com/produc...hylene-no-flap

    Product #SS1622

    16 1/4" X 22 1/4"

Will have to flip over the excess like a flap but these cover well the Gentle Giant Box.
The Pink Floyd "Later Years" box is a bit tight but still does the job.

I found these after many missteps with bags too small. I called Customer Support at Bags Unlimited with Box measurements and I was put on line with a Real Person who found the product that would cover that box. When in doubt....just call and ask. Whooda Thunk?

Thanks, that's a start. Not sure though if I need the 25 bags in this size, that seems to be the smallest number possible for order. Oh well ...

I have never found "having so many record sleeves I'll never use them" to be a problem.

My initial thoughts too.....it was a bit steep when shipping & tax was added......but you are Protecting releases worth Hundreds of Dollars!

I own Alembic Basses and forum members complain about the $550.00 price tag to protect a $20,000 Bass! Sheesh....

A good point. It's all relative to what you are protecting ... holy crap, in this regard even $550 does not look out of league there ... not that it is cheap. Guess I will stick to boxes, it calls for a
