Some of my personal favourites in there, but Witch's Promise isn't that unknown in the UK at least, thanks to a Top of the Pops clip with a very manic Anderson hamming it up.

Some rarities and more obscure stuff are on the list, but "Cold Wind To Valhalla" is quite well known and one of my favorites from "Minstrel". Also, if you are in to later stages JT you better be familiar with "Jump Start", from "Crest". If I had a living uncle who was a JT fan, he would hopefully know these two cuts.

Points taken! In the end, see it as more of a fun list than a serious statement!

Nice list. No argument with any of that.

In fact, it could form the basis of a Tull playlist for wfh this week.

I doubt if my one living uncle has ever heard of Jethro Tull.

Yes, it's a good list and I enjoyed looking up some of the obscure cuts. Thanks.

i see a few of my favorites there, notably Sealion, Moths, Jack Frost And The Hooded Crow, Dun Ringill, and Cold Wind To Valhalla, so I certainly can't complain with this list.

I was going to say that.
    Well, not about your uncle.

Pretty nice list. "Sweet Dream" is the one I'll mention as not being "unknown," if only because it was one of the first Tull songs I heard (MTV played a video of it excerpted from Slipstream in the 80's).

I could probably pick a baker's dozen more obscure:

To Be Sad Is a Mad Way to Be
    Critique Oblique
    Sailor
    Paradise Steakhouse
    Good Godmother
    Summerday Sands
    Salamander's Rag Time
    Old Aces Die Hard
    Working John, Working Joe
    Jack A Lynn
    Quatrain
    King Henry's Madrigal
    Coronach
"And your little sister's immaculate virginity wings away on the bony shoulders of a young horse named George who stole surreptitiously into her geography revision."

Very obscure list this is; the only one that I immediately recognized and am familiar with is "Summerday Sands", which was a bonus cut on Minstrel In The Gallery. Based on these lists, it appears as if "Minstrel" was an odd man out album which is a bit of a surprise to me, considering that it is the 9th best selling JT LP. Of course, remasters with bonus tracks always bring in less heard cuts which may have not been previously featured.

My uncle doesn't but I sure do! Cool list. I made a Tull/Ian 7hr 16min compilation on Spotify that I spin the living headcheese out of.
If it isn't Krautrock, it's krap.

Great list! You had me from "For Michael Collins, Jeffrey And Me", love "Dun Ringell" too. I remember reading Opeth used that as inspiration for "Will O' the Wisps" off one of their recent albums.
