    Stern Meissen - Freiheit ist

Really enjoyed this melodic album. The songwriting is superb as is the playing. The vocals are very good. The instrumental sections are enjoyable. Very pleasant and enjoyable listen that didn't make me feel anxious.

When was that one released? Can't find it in my books on German Rock, or on Lift, Electra and Stern Combo Meißen.

Hey everybody I just become member yesterday and signed in right now for the first time. The funny thing is that I where 100% sure that this community were about Progressive PSYTRANCE. Ive came in to the forum and I cant rekognize anything, no djs no festivals not one name. So I klick myself into this part of the forum. Looking through the answers scratched my head thinking *Damn this ppl must be real underground"
Well so far so confused, I choose to copy "Angel Ontalva and Ark Fedotov - Shaman Rock" and find it up on youtube. I loved it.Absolutely fantastik, one of the best songs ive heard. But i felt pretty stupid when I come back to the forum and read a little closer when I see 21 century ROCK That explained things hehe. But well here I am, just found a song Ive gonna carry with me my whole life so I can just Say thank you

And while I am here and I got the bonus to have a whole new world of music opening for me I feel that I can share a couple of progressive songs back to you, but unfortunaly its and other genre, but who knows, progressive ears will be progressive ears.

I thought I was in another threat. It is a new album, I see. Can these guys perhaps decide wether they are Stern Combo Meißen, or Stern Meißen? After their albums they released as Stern Meißen, they have released several albums as Stern Combo Meißen and now they are back as Stern Meißen.

Have you heard Lyle Workman’s Uncommon Measures that just came out? Orchestral fusion with ripping licks from Lyle - truly exceptional stuff! And if it interests you, be sure to watch the few YouTube videos from this album - quite absorbing.

Books? It was a new release last year. Quite good but more akin to Stundenschlag than to Mittelpunkt.

Amazing that they still keep going, and with many of them more or less original members from way back in the 60s. It's been quite a ride and a highly varied one, but it won't continue forever so folks should catch on to Stern M. while they're around at all.

I thought I was in the Now Playing thread. Found the album online. I still wonder what they do with the name. First Stern Combo Meißen, then Stern Meißen, then a return to Stern Combo Meißen and now it is Stern Meißen again.

I think the only original member is Martin Schreier.
Listening to the album right now and I like it, though I thought the opening-track was a bit disappointing. 'Von fremden Ländern und Menschen' has some sequencer-part that reminds me on an old piece, I think Der Frühling.

Michael, I just purchased your new CD, plus The Brandnewbug Concertos. It’ll be fun to listen to that one after seeing a gazillion ads for it in Progression!

Thank you, Jed, I greatly appreciate it. But goodness, those Brandnewbug Concertos ads were back in the '90s!

New album, Rats' Alley, due out by the end of the month. This one's been a long time in the making.

Neptunian Maximalism's second studio album Éons was one of the highlights of 2020 for me. The massive three-disc set is a shocking combination of avant-garde jazz and brutal metal. I wrote a review of the album: https://pienemmatpurot.com/review-ne...ism-eons-2020/

these guys (a belgo-french pair) live two kms away from my Brussels pad. I've met the two of them a couple of times, but haven't got aroubd to actually see their stage act.

    Their music is stupendous though.

my music collection increased tenfolds when I switched from drug-addicts to complete nutcases.
