Music analysis channel - Zaragon Trimaximalist

I recently found this guys channel. Came up as a recommendation.

I really like his approach. He gets a bit technical, but he also mentions how the technical aspects affects the moods of the music.

He does all types of music, but does a lot of prog.

^ That's Terry Sharkie. He was a member here once. Might be here now, on low profile. I haven't come to a conclusion on that yet.

I know him slightly. Big fan of early Split Enz. He has a whole alternate take on rock history that's pretty interesting - even if you think he's totally off-base (I don't), you've got to admit he has a point.

Does he state this any place where folks can see it?

He gave Bruford's One of a Kind 5 stars so he's ok by me!

yeah, Terry still posts here once in a while (I suspect he's lurking much more than he's posting), but he's much more active on RYM.

Huge and very varied musical knowledge, with a viewing angle (or POV) I don't always agree with, but never something that makes me jump and protest. I can't say that I've followed much of his YT chain and haven't viewed in full one of his exposé (but then again, I don't do that from any YT chains).
Probably an interesting character to meet in person.
my music collection increased tenfolds when I switched from drug-addicts to complete nutcases.

It's amazing what copying and pasting into a plain email and THEN reading does for legibility. THANK YOU.

He is. I actually talked to him in person back in October or November - met at a Starbucks downtown. He's working on some huge critical project, has been doing so for a couple of years, and wanted me to contribute in a small way. I'm afraid I dropped the ball. Really, I should contact him again.

His take on rock history is summarized in the year-by-year synopses on his RYM page. It's not your typical US/UK-centered narrative. He's heard thousands of 70s/80s albums from around the world:

Looked at this URL for a few minutes. Upon seeing Foxtrot at #1 for 1972, looked around for more Genesis albums in this content (which is all pre-1986 albums) out of curiosity, and noticed they're (a) either #1 #2 (and namely: Foxtrot, SEBTP, TOTT, W&W, Duke) or (b) not even in the top 20 (including Lamb which is not even in the top 100!) :-)
