    RIP Bill Plummer (Oblivion Sun)

Just read that keyboardist Bill Plummer from Oblivion Sun has passed on. (Announced by OS bassist Dave DeMarco). Such a fine player and nice guy.

A shot of Bill from NEARfest 2009:

Here’s one of Bill’s compositions from the first OS record that Dave also shared:

Holy shit. Although I don't know him well I have met Bill on several occasions and he always seemed like a really cool guy. Very sad news.

    From Sharon Rudolph:

Rest in Peace Bill Plummer! So sad to hear. A good friend to the music community. One of the best sound engineers anywhere studio & live. We will miss you. xo Just saw him at Orion last year and talked to him on the phone late summer. He never mentioned his liver cancer. Apparently he was in the hospital , they couldn't find a donor so he was sent home last week and died listening to David Sancious.

Bummer. He used to be a regular poster around here too. I remember that NF show, he had 3 Moogs going on at once I believe.

I think the first Oblivion Sun record equals anything that Happy the Man put out. I thought he was a great player, engineer and a hell of a nice guy. His posts on this forum were refreshing and humble. Condolences to his family and friends.

Bill was a genuinely nice guy. I didn't know him super well, but I always enjoyed speaking with him at H.T.M. shows and Oblivion Sun shows, and he was always great to be around.

and he kept his illness very on the down low. I didn't know until I started seeing these notices.

    rest in peace, Bill

    lots of love

What a shocking news. Bill was a regular visitor on the Happy The Fan-forum (still active: https://htfo.proboards.com/) and once sent the modorator his personal remix of "3rd Better Late...". Great player too!

I canít believe it, he seemed quite young. He freaking literally saved the sound at ProgDay one year. He was an engineer and a musician. RIP doesnít say enough. Very nice and talented guy.

His posts were fresh air to this forum, very knowledgeable engineer. I need to change the channel, watching a piece on organ replacement

Man, that's really sad to hear. I've chatted with him on a couple occasions, absolutely the nicest, coolest dude and he was as much a fan as he was a formidable participant in the prog scene.

    RIP

Bill was on the old PE, as "bp".

He joined here in 2013, also as "bp", but wasn't active from 2016 onward.

    Nice guy.

    RIP

    Duncan
