Genesis -Heathaze, with added mellotron by a fan.

The guy does a great job, delicate and it blends perfectly well.

Love this song, I think of it as having Mellotron on it even though it may not have.

Ah Duke, the cross-over from prog to pop. The last dying breath of the prog-Genesis. The added mellotron gives this tune a nice lift IMO, but I'm sure Tony Banks had already packed away his trons forever, possibly already thinking of them as a thing of the past. It seems to me that people like the guy here who added the mellotron are part of a group of folks who still yearn for more lost songs and/or cover versions of the Gabriel-Hackett era of the band. Lots of love obviously exists for the old band. I guess I fit within that group. Steve Hackett gets that about many of the old fans. Last year and this at his Genesis Revisited shows he brought back to life the Selling England session song that was written by Peter Gabriel and himself called Deja Vu. A beautiful lost Genesis gem. For those that still yearn, check out versions on You Tube. Hope there are some more old treasures to yet be discovered.

Nice. The song becomes much more of a crossover between eras. Those huge 'tron swells were such a Genesis thing.
I'm holding out for the Wilson-mixed 5.1 super-duper walletbuster special anniversary extra adjectives edition.

I wonder what Tony would say if he heard this?
"If you want to see the true nature of humanity, just look at the internet."

Ah, although 60 my memory still works fine. I knew this was posted before: https://www.progressiveears.org/foru...light=heathaze (#2). Still, I like both version, the original and this one.

    Very likely something like this:

    TB: "What's that, What's THAT ? "

We (PG,PC,SH) said: "That's this line we put on this afternoon"

    TB: " What is it ? It's a Mellotron ! That's a keyboard, that's mine, that's my instrument !"

    It definitely caused a wave...

Someone needs to add some 12-string!

When I'm correct Andy Kinch is not just a fan, but also someone who released a Christian folkrock-album in 1974 with the band 11:59 in which he indeed played some Mellotron:

Psalm 24 - The Earth Is The Lords

    Waters Of Babylon

The album is called This Our Sacrifice Of Praise: https://www.discogs.com/1159-This-Ou...elease/9806458

^ It's well known among collectors of British Folk.
