new Self-Titled Ours album comes out next Saturday May 15th, 20 years to the day that the debut album Distorted Lullabies came out.

But they put it up online yesterday for the bandcamp thing (I know since it's Saturday, it's gone for now).

Hi Ian! Really glad you liked it, I'm fantasizing on going to see both in September in End Of The Road festival (also Stereolab and The Comet Is Coming and much more)
Festival is sold out and shows are not an option yet, but one can dream...

P.S. another great find from 2020 for me-
    protomartyr - ultimate success today
I have a feeling you will like it too

A what now? What I'd like is the ability to makeup playlists in the app, so that, I can, say make up a playlist of all the Steve Roach albums I've got on there, that plays while I'm sleeping.

    This time it was:

    Henry Kaiser/Andrea Centazzo/Tania Chen: Ghidorah
    Henry Kaiser/Bill Laswell/Simon Barker/Rudresh Mahanthappa: Mudang Rock
    Elliott Sharp/Carbon Orchestra: Serrate
Radio Massacre International: The Clouds Of Titan (which was recorded in the home of a friend)

Their app only works in portrait mode, which is useless when I try to use it with my tablet standing up in landscape mode. Most worthwhile apps auto-rotate.

It is the single most annoying aspect, though playlists would also be nice.

I dunno if it's just me, but there always seems to be a flurry of release announcements from the artists I follow on the weekend or Monday after Bandcamp Friday. That seems counterproductive.

There is an insane number of Guranfoe recordings there (concerts and rehearsals), seems like they have put on their bandcamp website everything ever recorded by them. How do you choose which title to pick from there? I guess the latter ones and with price assigned should be the best ones there ... ?

They must record all their live gigs. They're reasonable quality. If you like them, they're worth getting. If you're a casual fan or lukewarm, probably best to stich to their main releases, but the downloads are coffee money.

Ordered the reissue of "beauty will save the world" by Revolutionary Army of the Infant Jesus. This is for a pre-order of it (CD / vinyl) and probably will be quickly gone ... after all, it is a real beauty

To be honest I am not sure where I am on their fan spectrum. Have their latest studio album and it is certainly interesting but not Earth shattering ... but perhaps with "coffee money" there is not much to lose, thanks.

My understanding was that Bandcamp Friday was done with the first Friday in May. I even checked a week or so later, and could find no source stating that it would continue in June. This morning, I received an email from Magma's label stating that June 4 is a Bandcamp Friday. I'm skeptical. Does anyone know definitively whether this is still a thing or not?

According to https://isitbandcampfriday.com there's no upcoming Bandcamp Friday. The wording used "Bandcamp Friday is over" is a little ambiguous but I suspect that they're no longer doing it.

If you go to 'is it bandcamp friday?' It says it's over but their last update on May 6th says it is continuing. So I guess we wait and see.

Aaaand...this morning I got an email from Ghost Rhythms saying that tomorrow is a Bandcamp Friday. There's still a lot of confusion out there.

My bad, really. I THOUGHT it was on, but no. So Ghost Rhythms procedeed to make special discounts, etc., for this friday, but it was not an official BC friday of course.
HOWEVER, BC friday WILL be on in august (6th) and the rest of the year.
