Had to call the ambulance again and they just took her to the hospital at midnight. Now the only common denominator is night time and both nights she ate a chocolate rice cake.

Why is it whenever someone mentions an artist that was clearly progressive (yet not the Symph weenie definition of Prog) do certain people feel compelled to snort "thats not Prog" like a whiny 5th grader?

Yeah man...we know a handful of people who have died also. One of which was my vet. It does get more "real" when it hits close to home like that. Thankfully my family pulled through and is back to good health, but there's a lot of dying out there...it's insane. And like you say, Duncan, what makes it even worse is you can't honor them with funerals, burials, goodbyes...it's just heartbreaking.

Heartbreaking, harrowing and at the same time inspiring to read about some of these dedicated health are workers fighting this monstrous pandemic with heart and soul. This is a good reminder that for every politician that cares about their own power more than human life and suffering, and every delusional cult member that demands their “freedom”, there are many heroes risking their lives to save others and comfort the dying. I doubt I would have enough resilience and tears to get through the day were I in their shoes.
I can only hope this horrible human tragedy will be the catalyst to change our priorities and reduce the insane pentagon budget dedicated to hegemony and death, correct the obscene economic policies that concentrate most of the wealth in the hands of the few, face the much larger challenge of catastrophic climate change, and elect competent, intelligent, educated, elite, moral leaders led by the light of science and the love of humanity rather than the fear and darkness of superstition, and who will be dedicated to public service and the common good so that we may build a more just world. Hope springs eternal.

A Comfort Zone is not a Life Sentence
For all the parents out there attempting to help their kids with distance learning, perhaps it's time we all give up the charade:
"Many school districts have attempted to shift schooling to home, but you cannot simply school at home. That’s why many homeschoolers call what they do 'home education,' not homeschooling. Home education involves an understanding that children can learn while doing everyday tasks; baking can teach math, science, and home economics. Sitting on the couch reading Charlotte’s Web to kids in grades five and three and kindergarten counts as 'school.' So does taking a nature walk and creating a nature journal. [...]
"And is this how families want to be spending the next months? Sitting inside staring at a computer screen for six hours a day? Most adults have a hard time in online meetings for that long for one day; it’s completely unreasonable to expect it of a child for months on end."

I want to dynamite your mind with love tonight.
I'm sure the Dr's will track down the cause and get your daughter the proper medication and diagnosis to fix this. IN the meantime, we keep your family and your daughter in our thoughts and prayers..hang in there and thank you for sharing so we can as a collective send positive thoughts.
I just got an email my friend and bandmate of 45 years in California, his 20 yr old son had a brain aneurysm several days ago. They performed surgery yesterday and it looks like he'll recover, but it will be a long road.
To have these things happen while we're all stressed out anyway, must be extremely difficult.

Best wishes Ed, to your friends TC, Duncan, Klonk and all who are struggling.
I think this is sadly illustrative of the situation here in the US: https://www.forbes.com/sites/sergeik.../#73b0cda17891
I brought her home about 4 AM this morning and she seems to be doing pretty well. She's not going to take any more medicine until they figure out what is happening. I want to thank everyone for their kind thoughts and prayers.

Glad to hear it ed. Hope she stays well.
I'm glad your wife's home, Ed. And sorry to hear about everyone else's difficulties; yesterday's the day this became more personal for me too (well, it already had because a good friend is an internist who's been working in an ICU for weeks now at White Plains Hospital in NY).
My favorite teacher from high school died. Not directly from Covid-19, but he was in his 80s and in a home, and basically I think he realized he'd just had the last visitor he was ever going to have (he has no family), and it seems he hastened the end of his life in some way (which probably wasn't too hard because he had heart issues). It's very sad, and there's a huge thread online of former students mourning him now. He was very influential to me and a lot of other students. So RIP Marty Sternstein.
This had me pretty upset yesterday, then I started thinking about how Neil Peart died in, what was it, October? Then in December my high school best friend's mother died (he was my Best Man), and I really loved her but hadn't seen her for many years. But I missed the memorial service.
And actually Keith’s (Jubal’s) death hit me the hardest. He was a really nice guy. I know it wasn’t related to Covid-19, but it compounds things.
So I just realized I've entered that stage of life where you know people who die, and there's going to be a lot more of it. And probably a lot of people are going to die where we won't even know it and we'll find out a lot later.
Right now I'm listening to my son doing his fifth grade music class, and of course they're having to lay off the music department...
Fuck Covid-19 and the assholes it rode in on.

Ed, I hope that they straighten out your daughter's meds. After all you went through with your mother, additional stress is not necessary. Duncan and Jed, my sympathies. Klonk, stay well. To all of you, stay in if possible and stay well.
I don't like country music, but I don't mean to denigrate those who do. And for the people who like country music, denigrate means 'put down.'- Bob Newhart
Best wishes to all of you who are dealing with these health setbacks. I don't pray, but you are in my thoughts.

Glad to hear she is back home Ed!

I say to everyone, watch the Phoenix area closely. We're about to hit our first 100 degree temps this weekend. If we experience a sudden drop in new Covid cases after Mother's Day weekend, the world will know the virus is a seasonal event, like the flu. If not, we're all screwed until there's a vaccine.
