I saw this in the local park while walking the dogs New Years Eve.
Just hanging there by it's lonesome.
Not going to bust open any covid to see what is inside.
It was still there this morning.

My wife's parents and aunts/uncles had varying degrees of heavy Germanic accents. I always heard things like, "Yah, I hear she got the die-uh-BEE-tus". The next generation down would amuse themselves to the point of tears mimicking that accent and doing imitations.

One of my friends is 80 years old, had a pet shop which his son has taken over now, but he still helps out, breeds fish, etc.
He got Covid just before christmas and has no particular symptoms (cant taste), but his wife had fever, headache, etc.
His son (the shop owner)+ wife + their teenagers are ill, his daughter + husband (with a different pet shop) & kids are infected too.
6 days after break out he is again working in the shop. Two other (not infected yet) employees are there, the shop is open !, and my friend works and returns home to his sick wife every day...
Nobody seems to think there is a problem. Off course the animals needs attention, food, clean water, clean cages, etc. but opening again, calling in employees, and friends passing by...They are crazy !
No wonder this virus keeps spreading.
^^ SIX DAYS???!!!
No wonder, indeed.

It seems that it would be a good idea to eat more spinach, broccoli and kale:
Old age, obesity, poor immune system and chronic disease. These are some of the things that recur in those people who are hit particularly hard or end up dying of COVID-19.
Now another factor might be added to the list:
A low level of vitamin K, which is found in the greenest vegetables such as spinach, broccoli and kale, is now linked to particularly severe COVID cases and mortality.

Lucky me! I love broccoli and spinach...
U.K. back in full lockdown for another seven weeks at least. We now have a government “promise” to vaccinate all top four vulnerable groups by mid February, which would cover all care home patients and staff, all those over 70, all NHS staff and all vulnerable and at risk. This would mean administering 2 million doses per week for the next seven weeks. I’m sceptical this will be achieved, but remain ever hopeful that they will finally come through on one pledge.
Even if they can't meet the two million per week, but they significantly speed things up from where they are today, I would take that as a win. Canada is being painfully slow. So far we've received over 400,000 doses, but only around 120,000 have been administered. It all comes down to bad planning and it's unacceptable IMO.
Vaccinations here in the U.S. are certainly falling behind where they are supposed to be by now. Faucci was interviewed on Face The Nation Sunday morning and he seems hopeful that things will pick up, but if they don't, it could be a long time before vaccinations get to where we want them.
The U.S. rollout has been nothing short of pathetic.
As expected.

You should only meet with people you live with.

With expectations set so high, anything short of instantaneous universal vaccination would be a let down.
And then the outrage would be deafening from the people who had their rights trampled.
Any amount of attempted organization would be too exclusive Why prioritize them over me?
Throwing things open to 'first come, first served' gets people waiting in days long lines. Just pointless and stupid IMHO.
I will get my shots ( important, because it's All times 2 at this point ) when they are generally available. Until then I mask and wait.
Even then mask up and keep cool until both shots and the 'true efficacy' of the vaccine is revealed by the masses.
