I would support a 50% "restocking fee" for packages of TP. Then at least others who have none could get some
Why is it whenever someone mentions an artist that was clearly progressive (yet not the Symph weenie definition of Prog) do certain people feel compelled to snort "thats not Prog" like a whiny 5th grader?

It's hard to guess when we will lift this and start having public gatherings. You've probably seen what an interesting guy we have for a Governor so it's hard telling. He claimed (in the last couple weeks) he just heard it was spreadable without symptoms.

... the usual suspects (of course). We really are in Orwell/Kafka territory here as evidenced by yesterday's task force briefing. Am I losing my mind or is this un-freaking-believable? These idiots are pressed against each other without any kind of protection. There were similar moronic gatherings in Michigan and North Carolina.

In a move that is all too Florida, the governor has declared the WWE an essential industry.

How much longer until widespread lawlessness begins? I hope not but there is a building frustration of many people who don't understand or don't care that so many lives are at stake and they want their life to be what THEY want it to be.

Yeah, a life with an income. People are getting desperate. And many people who are getting infected are being turned away and being denied testing. And from what I've read the vultures in the financial sector along with their expensive lawyers are working to swipe relief funds meant for small businesses that actually make a product or offer a service to their communities.

So much to discuss here, but impossible to do so with, figuratively speaking, zipped lips.

Everyone else seems to be doing ok. Politics is only a hard topic to discuss because invariably some people can't present an idea or platform without insinuating that "only the blind or myopic can't see things my way" "those people" and other insults. Besides, what purpose does discussing political philosophies serve in an echo chamber.

I’m gonna steal this quote and use it on a few other message boards. Great synopsis.

It is not mandatory to dwell into politics,
This thread is much more interesting for the personal points of views of people around here regarding the day to day life-
It will be a shame if this thread gets locked over the topics which are beaten to death elsewhere.

When one takes an unbiased look, it really has nothing to do with politics. It has everything to do with science, medicine and morality. The problem is that we allow moral issues to be framed as political ones, which plays right into the hands of the politicians and special interests.

I agree completely, however remarks like "This is what brainwashed cults do." are not really needed -
They are not giving any new information to those who think it true, and they only raise antagonism for those who don`t.
    So really, whats the point?

It's tempting to post an essay or two here that address this sort of antagonism and suggests solutions, but I'm sure it would be deemed political despite attempting to be balanced.

I'm tempted to say many things here lately, but I'm also probably remaining more sane by not doing so.

This is not the forum in which to do so, but the point would be to learn from history and to analyze current events in a fact-based, informed way including the psychological aspects of how cults and propaganda works. Without analyzing and understanding this, in my view, it is not possible to understand the dynamics of what is tragically happening in this country, including its impacts on the response to the current crisis, the near and long-term implications, and what possible solutions can be brought to bear to ameliorate these issues. To think that that is it fringe-thinking to view the irrational actions and responses to date as not involving elements of propaganda and cult-behavior is not only naive but it ignores history and psychology. This is of course only my opinion and I certainly don't mean to speak for Ronmac.

    and there it is
politics is an insidious system of divide and conquer
a broken system doomed to utter failure

Like I said, you think I don't have anything to say about it? But I simply don't because I appreciate the personal stories unfolded here, and I feel that the politics just sidetrack the discussion and honesty, there are better platforms for this.

Unfortunately, I need look no further than my own FB feed to see that in action. Good observation
